I Built A Computer-based Testing Platform For Nigerian Schools by Mygoodnessx(op): 6:21pm On Apr 19
Nl family, long post but please read to the end. This might be useful to you or someone you know.

The Problem
Every term, Nigerian teachers spend their weekends marking hundreds of exam scripts by hand. A school with 400 students writing 5 subjects generates 2,000 scripts per exam cycle. That is teachers giving up their rest, making marking errors from exhaustion, and delaying results that students and parents are waiting for.
Meanwhile WAEC and JAMB have gone fully computer-based. Students who have never touched a CBT interface before are sitting national exams on computers. Many are failing not because they don't know the content but because the format is unfamiliar.
I got tired of watching this problem exist with no affordable local solution so I built one.

Introducing SmartCBT
A computer-based testing platform built specifically for Nigerian primary and secondary schools.
Not adapted from a foreign product. Not a JAMB prep app. Built from scratch for the way Nigerian schools actually operate.
What schools get:
For students:
Take tests on any Android phone or computer
No app download required — works in any browser
Timer, randomised questions, instant results
Same interface as WAEC and JAMB CBT
For teachers:
Upload hundreds of questions in minutes via CSV
Schedule tests with specific start and end times
See exactly which questions students got wrong
Full analytics — pass rates, average scores, subject performance
Export results as PDF
For school administrators:
Full school overview dashboard
Track teacher activity and student performance
Manage all accounts from one place
Subscription management
For school owners:
Zero marking costs
Results ready before students leave the exam hall
Data to make real decisions about teaching quality
Modern infrastructure that impresses parents

The Technology
Built with FastAPI (Python) backend, PostgreSQL database, hosted on Railway cloud infrastructure. Mobile responsive — works on any device. Multi-tenant architecture meaning each school's data is completely isolated from others. Email verification, password reset, role-based access control all implemented.

Stack for the developers here:
Backend: FastAPI + SQLAlchemy + PostgreSQL
Frontend: Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS (no framework needed)
Hosting: Railway
Authentication: JWT tokens
Email: Resend API

Pricing: 2000 per student/pupil
First term is completely free for the first 10 schools that sign up. No payment required. No strings attached.

Current Status
The platform is fully functional and ready for schools to use. I am currently onboarding the first set of schools before moving to full public launch. Custom domain is being configured — for now accessible via the Railway URL which I will share on request.

Who I Am Looking For
Schools and educators: If you are a school owner, principal, proprietor, ICT teacher or vice principal and you want to try this free for one term, send me a DM or drop your WhatsApp number. I will set up your school personally and be available throughout your first term for support.
Investors and partners: This is an early stage product with a clear market, working technology and a founder who can build. If you are interested in the Nigerian edtech space ,I am open to conversations about partnerships, funding or distribution deals. The Nigerian basic education market has over 88,000 registered schools. We are going after it.
Developers: If you are a developer interested in contributing or collaborating, reach out. Always open to working with people who understand the problem.

Why This Will Work
Nigeria has over 53,000 secondary schools and 35,000 primary schools. The vast majority are still running paper-based exams. WAEC and JAMB have proven that CBT works at scale in Nigeria. The infrastructure is there — most students have Android phones, most schools have at least one computer room.
The gap is an affordable, locally built platform that understands Nigerian school structures, Nigerian curriculum, and Nigerian network conditions. That is what SmartCBT does
The market is real. The product works. The timing is right.

Thank you

Interesting. Looks very promising. You need a marketing expert to help you push the product to schools. Quote me if you're serious, based in Lagos and want to follow through with this advise.
