This guy is really active on nairaland, seriously looking for people to scam.. this is the exact same number that the scammer used to message me. I am sure it does not belong to the username you attached, the scammer was impersonating the said username.

Don't try it. They will steal your phone. We don't know if it's Nipost or Custom staff doing that.

The phone I ordered came in with a different name and address but same tracking number.
When checked by Nipost at the delivery office, it was past questions they put inside.

What saved me was that I quickly went to the post office immediately I noticed it has gotten there on the tracking website I used.
If not, someone else would have collected the parcel and AliExpress will mark it as delivered and that may be all with your money.

Most of the theft happens during offloading for custom clearance.
If you've been to Nahco, and see the inspection and search that nipost workers there are put through, you will know it's hard to steal items.
My discussion with an insider revealed that during offloading, that's when the theft takes place.

Don't generalize it because that's not everybody's experience!

That you encountered difficulty in receiving your item doesn't mean others will experience same.
All my mobile phones from AliExpress had been delivered through Nipost, without any story of theft.

The only reason I won't encourage anyone to place a direct order for mobile phone at the moment bothers on the delay in delivery being experienced in recent times.

Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean they should take the risk. Haven't you seen people complaining bitterly about missing items lately, particularly gadgets?

No one is denying your experience, but that isn't the case the vast majority of the time. Your experience makes for less than 10% of those who order from AliExpress.

The bulk of persons here who order gadgets get them. I ordered 2 tablets last year and got both of them and both came through NIPOST. I've ordered phones too in the past and got them. I have family who have ordered phones over the years and not had issues.

The vast majority of complaints you'll see here is delay. The NIPOST route is exhaustingly long and most times you'll even have to request for a refund before your parcel gets to you. This has happened to multiple people here who has to request for a refund then weeks later got notification either by their tracker or Nipost that their item arrived.

So for anyone who wants to order for phones on AliExpress, they need to know they'll need a lot of patience but it will most likely get to them. If you can't wait then use 3rd party vendors who can order for you and ship in the items on your behalf.
