You do have a point...a few years ago, Ahmed Musa refused the Dantata (or Indimi?) patriarch's handshake - for exactly the same reasons you mentioned above.

But people and cultures differ. That's the beauty of this thing called life. As you can tell from the responses here, in some other cultures it is very rude for a younger person to refuse a handshake from an older individual. It would be very interesting to hear this young lady's reasons for her actions.

On an unrelated note, this young lady looks very much like the lady on the album cover design of Fela Kuti's "Yellow Fever" hit of the 70s. The resemblance is uncanny.
