# Ogun East APC Leaders Endorse Dapo Abiodun for 2027 Senate Seat

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun East Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Senate election.

The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting involving party leaders, lawmakers, and grassroots representatives. According to the leaders, the decision followed wide consultations and was based on Abiodun’s performance in office and his ability to represent the district effectively at the national level.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, former senator Lekan Mustapha said the party has confidence in Abiodun’s leadership and capacity. He added that the endorsement would be formally communicated to the governor while mobilization efforts continue within the district.

A sitting governor should not be associated with a process that excludes an elected senator from a key party meeting.

That goes beyond endorsement and begins to look like the use of influence to shape outcomes before a fair contest even begins. Internal party democracy is weakened when participation is restricted rather than encouraged.

Length and breadth of the state is an eyesore and they keep voting the worst!

30 years and they can’t still produce one Governor!

Nothing about naija politics is about the people,its all about self preservation for the politicians but what dapo has done is grossly unfair.......its neither both of thems fault that ogun east cant support more credible candidates.

30 good years and they have never got a governor or Senator that had the interest of the state at heart!

Every other state has had a good time with one or two governors in last 3 decades. Even Ebonyi had a revolution during Umahi!

Ogun is just STAGNANT. The state just exists, nothing more.

In addition, the state is rich and not a pauper! It got massive IGR and FG allocation, but everywhere is an eyesore!
