DailyGistsNg:
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its Air Component under Operation HADIN KAI carried out a precision airstrike that eliminated several terrorists in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. The operation, conducted on April 19, 2026, forms part of ongoing military efforts to sustain pressure on insurgent groups operating in Nigeria’s North-East region. In an official statement, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Ehimen Ejodame, said the strike was executed based on credible intelligence supported by Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. According to him, the intelligence confirmed the presence of террорист elements occupying fortified positions, including structures and bunkers within the forest. “NAF air assets engaged the targets with precision munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple terrorists, and eliminating key logistics facilities, as confirmed by subsequent Battle Damage Assessment,” Ejodame stated. Sustained Air Campaign Weakening Insurgents The NAF noted that continuous air operations have significantly degraded terrorist capabilities in the region, disrupting their movement and operational coordination. “The sustained tempo of air operations continues to degrade terrorist networks, leaving them increasingly exposed and under pressure, forcing desperate and reactive actions,” the statement added. Military Reaffirms Commitment The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to ongoing counterinsurgency operations. “The Nigerian Air Force will sustain relentless, intelligence-driven air operations until terrorist elements are completely neutralised. We remain committed to protecting our personnel, safeguarding national security, and ensuring the safety of all citizens,” he said. The Air Force further emphasised that it would intensify precision strikes across operational theatres while strictly adhering to rules of engagement and taking measures to minimise civilian harm. Ongoing Counterinsurgency Efforts Operation HADIN KAI remains a key component of Nigeria’s counterinsurgency strategy in the North-East, particularly in areas such as the Sambisa Forest, long considered a stronghold for insurgent groups. Military authorities say operations will continue as part of broader efforts to restore stability and security across affected communities.

Did you read or see Israel or Hezbollah in my comment? Am talking about home and you're talking about abroad... Boko Haram has killed more army and civilians than our military has killed them. Or do you still need pictures about that, too?
