Goodlordwoodliu:Quick one to do is to declare it missing and get another passport, simple. You wont see that passport again as its is missing, where is another issue. |

Unfortunately, no embassy can safekeep your passport forever. All passports are properties of Nigerian Immigration Service after all, and they've rightfully returned your unclaimed passport to the right authority. Go to NIS and sort it out, this is your mistake, nobody else's, so also take some responsibility for leaving your passport uncollected for 4 months, and even declining to arrange courier collection. |

The topic is misleading. Your passport is with Nigeria Immigration. As soon who handles visa applications, I can tell you for a fact your passport can't stay beyond a certain period in either VFS or UK High Commission (note, not embassy!). The process of getting that passport back is longer than getting a new one. The choice is yours. |

nedekid:Don't write trash with such confidence. When you don't know a thing, ask questions. The agent didn't collect any package from VFS. Don't make sure incriminating statement. The agent probably used his email and the decision was sent to the email and that's how he knew he was rejected |

nedekid:The way some of you write trash with so much confidence leaves me in shock! So many spurious claims in this your write up. Let me claim the misinformation you are presenting. When you drop off your passport at VFS after your biometrics, your application is processed at Sheffield. Your passport is taken to the UKVI section of the UK High Commission in Abuja through DHL. After your application has been processed at Sheffield, the relay their decision to UKVI. If the application is successful, the sticker visa will be stamped on it (this was before two weeks ago). The UK High Commission sends back your passport through DHL to VFS office you did your biometrics or to your destination if you paid for courier. It is VFS that will tell you that your passport is ready for collection through a predetermined email you used in filling the form. On the other hand, if your application is rejected, UKVI sends you an email that your application was rejected and they will state the reasons too. Less than 24 hours later, VFS sends you another email that your passport is ready for collection or your passport is sent to you if you used courier service. It is therefore false and misleading to say that there is nothing like rejection letter or that the only way you know if you were rejected is when you open the package. |

When you bring things like this online you'll get a lot of suggestions including from illiterates who know nothing about international travel. If your passport isn't picked up after a certain period, it is sent to the Nigerian Immigration Service in Abuja (to be clear, this is standard practice - and I know someone who was in same situation last year). Rather than sit in your house seeking for solutions that WILL NEVER COME, fly to Abuja and pick up your passport. I'm sure it's laying there somewhere. Goodlordwoodliu: |

pek: You are right, I just made enquiries and conformed that email is sent telling you of denial, Guess they have updated it over the years. In the past you had to pickup your passport to know if it was successful or not. As at last year you receive an email telling you a decision has been made and you should come for pickup, I guess that means a successful application, but if denied you receive an email telling you it was denied. I am not familiar with the |

First thing I’d do is stay calm and get everything documented. Sometimes embassies mix up internal storage locations or old records, so it’s not always as clear as they say. I’d go back to the UK visa application center you used and ask for a written confirmation of where your passport was last recorded and who signed for it. Also escalate it directly to UKVI support with your reference number, because they can trace internal movement better than local offices. |

Don't believe them, they want to use your passport to commit unimaginable crimes, no gree for anyone, go to the embassy and show them shege, show them you know your right, cause a serious scene, so when the officers come they'll tell you where and who they gave, don't just come online and para, go to the embassy and show them this is not their country and your passport is government property either they explain further or give you your passport, nothing more nothing less |
