Hi

Let me school you a little bit since you think you know it all my ITK. You can only hunt for squrell with a valid license and not all state allows it and it has their limits okay. So my reason for saying he could be jailed is valid Mr ITK. And the way he killed that squrell might be considered a crime.
Since you want me to teach you these are what and howmany you can kill in each state of America with only a valid license approved or in your own personal land.

squirrel hunting is not universally allowed across the entire United States. While hunting is a common and well-regulated activity in most states, the specific laws vary significantly, covering seasons, bag limits, licensing, and more.

Because regulations can change, it's always essential to consult the official state wildlife agency for the most current and accurate information before hunting.

Below i provide so you see a list of all activities based on available information,
but note that rules for specific species (like Fox squirrels often have different bag limits or are restricted to certain areas), for hunters under a certain age, or on certain types of land may differ.

Hunting almost always requires a valid license. However, many states have rules allowing landowners or tenants to kill squirrels causing property damage on their own land without a license.

Nuisance Wildlife: Most states allow property owners to kill squirrels causing damage without following hunting seasons, but may restrict methods (e.g., no poisons).

Species Differences: Fox squirrels often have shorter seasons or stricter bag limits than gray squirrels due to conservation concerns.

Weapons Restrictions: States regulate hunting methods, such as banning rifles for squirrel hunting in some areas or only allowing shotguns in certain zones.

Federal Lands & Special Areas

Hunting on National Wildlife Refuges, National Forests, or state WMAs often has additional rules, which may include specific seasons, mechanical restrictions, or a requirement to purchase a special permit.

You aren't as hungry as he is, obviously.

Because this his squirrel didn't yield much meat, but he's still eating it anyway.

Feed him if you truly love these pests.

Potential Legal Penalties
If a person kills a squirrel outside of legal parameters, they may face:

° Criminal Fines: Misdemeanor fines typically range from $50 to $2,000 per animal

. Jail Time: Convictions for animal cruelty or serious poaching can result in 30 days to 1 year in county jail

. Felony Charges: In extreme cases involving "aggravated cruelty" (e.g., torture or killing many animals to display them), individuals have faced felony charges with potential prison sentences and fines up to $90,000

. Restitution: Many states require "trophy fees" or civil restitution to reimburse the state for the animal's value, which can be around $25 per squirrel

. Equipment Forfeiture: Authorities may seize firearms, traps, or even vehicles used in the commission of a wildlife crime

Very serious. E plenty for that side especially if you have a house that has trees. In some cities, feeding is prohibited. They do the same thing to birds.

I have a challenge regarding this. Because of animal control and environmental, these oyinbo cities prohibit feeding even birds but people still do it. Some people even think that it's an attack on the people's consciousness but old people do it. They believe that feeding animals is spiritual.

I believe so @bolded.
There's something therapeutic about it.
Even by just watching humans feed animals, especially the little delicate ones.

I have realized that old people do. What I mean is, across continents, there seems to be a story that believes in this. Despite authorities trying to stop it, they still do it. Especially those who have grandmas. I have seen some people on social media say what their grandmother told them. That means the baby boomers amongst us who don't care still do it. What some people do is to create a bird house or a squirrel house if there is a tree on their property. The problem with feeding animals is pest control. They say once you feed them and they don't eat it, you are giving an open invitation to rodents. They are also concerned about human to animal transmission of disease. Don't mind those oyinbo people, their hypocrisy stinks. They would get outraged at the killing of a cat but they don't mind some human beings dieing like waste paper yet they claim to be dog's best friend 🤡
But one thing I have realised is that you need some time off human beings and observe nature, especially the birds. They are God's messenger on earth. Every animal has something to teach us, even squirrels. I learned that they store food for months for out of season periods.

They are all rodents as in a bio- family. If you eat a squirrel, you have eaten a rat.
