I bought my Sumec generator (the one with a wheel) for 90k in 2018. Today, that same generator is going for anywhere between 350k and 450k. My neighbour got his Thermacool freezer (medium size) for about 80k in Aba around 2019, and now it’s selling for 300k to 400k. I can go on and on.

Don’t even get me started on eggs. Before Buhari came in, it was 20 naira or less. Even during his early years in office, before they took control of the legislative assembly, egg was still around 25 naira. Bukola Saraki really did well to tame their borrowing rate.

Honestly, inflation has really dealt with the average Nigerian. The purchasing power has gone. The so-called middle class is almost wiped out. And unless someone is cutting corners, it’s becoming very difficult to survive, especially if you have plenty of people depending on you.
