350 for the piece. 200 for political insurance. You can opt to get the piece and figure out your coverage yourself.

The neegah in this news was fleeced. Yes, market value for a brand new is higher than that 450 quoted here, but the rate for a used one shouldn't amount to 450.

Ultimately, location matters.

Given a choice between obtaining a legally owned, highly effective, and officially licensed shotgun, or going to jail for possession of a 100% ILLEGAL handgun that is not even as suited to home defense as a shotgun, wise Nigerians who don't wish to become unwilling guests of the Nigerian Prison Service won't need to think for long to do the right thing.

Most vigilante crews in Nigeria now wield semi-auto or pump action shotguns, so you will have no difficulty getting your own home defense weapon that is duly licensed and thus fully legal, provided that you are ready with the right amount of cash.

I have previously made attempts to get a license pump, the Nigeria police told me they don't issue guns and license for now due to the directive from the previous IGP

If caught up in the cross fire of bandits , can that shotgun be enough to protect him ? Experts over to you. I don’t know if that gun would have the capacity to shoot more than 3 rounds with the way I’m seeing it.
watch the video again. It has a magazine that can go for at least 30 rounds.

I think Nigerians need education on weapon management and use. The reason the current bandit wave is getting worse is because the Nigerian government is complicit and the bandits are not meeting with equal force from their victims. If I hold a Berreta pistol with extended magazines that houses 70 rounds semi automatic reloading, then let’s see how bandits won’t collect before they kill me , I will have killed a good significant number out of them as well…

Well, whatever the case may be, whether a shotgun or a beretta or a glock, whichever your preference is, there's a supplier for your security needs, especially as nigeria has become a critical case where human security, comfort and safety is concerned.

Handguns are absolutely illegal for civilians in Nigeria. If you are openly advertising handguns in Nigeria, then you are either an undercover agent setting up a sting operation to net illegal weapons buyers, OR you are being very careless with your own safety by announcing your involvement in the sale of illegal weapons. Either way, I pity anyone who takes you up on this kind of offer.

Lol.

You're not wrong on both assertions. But you're just one of the many nigerians who do not actually understand the country you live in and the operational nuances in it underbelly🙂.

For anyone wishing to remain on the RIGHT side of the law with regards guns in Nigeria, I herein post a link to the 1990 Nigerian Firearms Act.

The following link is to a PDF copy of the 1990 Nigerian Firearms Act. Pay attention to Section 3 ( Page 15, Item 7 of this document) - Prohibited Firearms, and NOTE that pistols of ANY sort, are EXPLICITLY prohibited for all who intend to abide by the law and avoid jail on firearms charges.

you are right but if the government allows weapon carrying like America, bro I bet you, we will leave bandits and finish ourselves.

Jakumo:
This man comes across as a law-abiding citizen who armed himself with an illegal pistol NOT to commit crimes, but to protect himself from criminals who carry firearms and can only be deterred by an armed citizen who is willing to stand his ground and reject the role of a submissive victim.

The cardinal mistake made by the man caught with a pistol, was his decision to arm himself with an illegal handgun, rather than going through the proper channels to obtain a licensed shotgun or rifle. Outside of serving and retired military or police officers, NO Nigerian is allowed to own a concealable gun, be that a pistol or a shortened shotgun. For home defense, a standard shotgun is far more effective than a pistol, in trained hands.

Hopefully the judge slated to try this case will temper justice with mercy.
My concern, this public display without legal representation, is it in anyway correct?

A recent directive forbids suspects' faces from being displayed during "parades" of arrested people by the police in Nigeria, and this is why the man caught with a pistol was only filmed from the neck down.

That said, this suspect's recently mandated entitlement to pre-prosecution anonymity was breached by the police spokesman who ordered the suspect to identify himself by name. A competent legal practitioner might be able to cite that premature disclosure of his arrested client's identity as a mitigating factor that challenges the merit and credibility of the illegal firearm possession charge being filed.
Re: Arrested Cult Member Reveals Why He Bought Beretta Pistol For ₦450k by Alusiizizi(m): 2:35pm On Apr 27
Jakumo:
It is good to hear that you also possess firearm expertise, Alusiizizi. My reason for extolling the suitability of shotguns over handguns or assault rifles for the specific circumstance of home defense, is because most home invasions occur swiftly, with intruders breaching a home using metal cutters to remove burglary bars, or battering ram impacts to shatter door locks.

A typical 12-guage shotgun cartridge of American-standard "Double-Ought" buckshot contains 9 to 12 weighty pellets that fan out in a conical blast envelope whose radius increases inversely with barrel length. Thus, a pump or semi-auto shotgun whose barrel has been deliberately cut short to maximize the area of impact for close range combat, can be used to "sweep" rooms or hallways using multiple rapid sequence blasts that will pulverize intruders without any requirement for the defender to taker careful aim.

In comparison, a 9mm semi-auto handgun, even if equipped with a "red dot" laser sight, requires careful and precise aim in order to stop an intruder with the first shot, or with all follow-up shots taken in the heat of the moment when the outcome of a gunfight often depends on lightning reflexes compressed into a time-frame of split seconds.

A shotgunner wielding a pump action scattergun, on the other hand, can easily eliminate threats indoors or in the close quarters of a fenced yard, using a series of rapid shots placed in the general direction of the perceived danger. Those shotgun blasts do not require precise aim as do pistol or rifle shots, and can thus be administered with blinding speed and to devastating effect. Shotguns were very popular with US marines patrolling the claustrophobic jungles of Viet Nam, for this very reason.

From a safety standpoint, a shotgun fired within a house or compound is far less likely than a pistol to over-penetrate and send pellets into nearby residences, or into the street outside. The absolute least suitable and most hazardous weapon for home-defense is of course a rifle, because rifle rounds can blow through walls to kill unintended innocents impacted hundreds of yards from the scene of the action.
I can also concede to your point that minimal accuracy is required for a shotgun. Most shotgun shells, as far as I know, pack some 60 or so pellets and require substantial gunpowder for each of them pellets to carry any real punch, and that is the source of the first disadvantage of shotguns, recoil. Sure, it would be perfect for those that have extensive training with these sort of weapons(which is maybe 0.1 percent of general population), but the reality is that a shotgun is not suitable for the vast majority of homeowners, the recoil is just too much, not to talk of the fact that the shotgun is unwieldy, not by accident, but by necessity. All that power has to be contained somehow. It makes perfect sense for a U.S. marine to use such weapons in jungle operations but very little sense for the average American homeowner.

Handguns on the other hand are a different story. Relatively light and easy to use without extensive training(for example, an 8 year old boy can learn a .22 pistol in a matter of hours). While accuracy is important, on point accuracy(like the ones that are required of successful army snipers) is not necessary for the average homeowner, a typical adult male home invader presents a large enough target that even a half-blind home-owner would have little trouble with picking him off.

Summary: Shotguns are great if you have trained on them for a long time but probably not suitable for Joe Blow.

Bandits can easily be located with drones equipped with a thermal imaging identification system, all under $200,000. Our government is just being dishonest.

This is true. A VTOL drone with ISR cameras can be bought for $100K USD, yet despite all the public displays of those exact models by various state governors and security agencies, NONE were deployed to find the Oyo school children.

It is a real shame, my brother that kids as young as two-year-olds are being held and our government is less concerned. Even the media has moved on. Even the average Nigerian on the street has moved on.

The character of a government can be ascertained by the way it treats its most vulnerable citizens - namely its children. The stony silence of Nigeria's leadership from the state to the federal level is a tragic indictment laid bare for the world to see. If the brutality meted out to those defenseless children is anything to go by, then one shudders to think of what any adult will face at the hands of those demons from hell.

Right after that Oyo State kidnapping,, I even held out hope that the new military alliance between Nigeria and the USA might be showcased in a dramatic and heroic rescue operation conducted by special forces of both nations. That optimistic dream never came to pass.
