But this is what nairaland used to be meant for. Sharing information and helping others. As for you and your cryoto bandits goodluck. Debt recovery is entirely a civil matter, it's immaterial whether you read their terms and conditions expressly stated before they gave you the loan... Did they state that they would involve third parties in the event of default? Did they also state in their terms and condition that they would subject you to defamatory content to your contacts in the event of a breach? The law on privity of contract is sancrosant here, and once that line is breached, you can move against them in the event whereby you were defamed as a criminal or whatever...

Una wey nor read law na una mouth sharp pass, and una nor know anything.

Defamation is a civil wrong, and if you defame me, I will countersue and won't pay back such loan.
Oga na rubbish you dey talk.

If you borrow money from me and refuse to pay back and I go and report you to members of your family I have not defamed you in any way!

Telling people you are owing me and have refused to pay is a statement of fact so how exactly did defametion enter the equation.

I've been owning them.since 2024, when the country is better I will pay up
Which means you would never pay back. Paying back is commitment, what you have and willingness to repay.

Don't lie to him the interest will keep adding up

Infact he won't understand how they calculate it
True. Interest is automated and sometimes difficult to understand. If he refuses to pay, one day in the future, he may go to another financial institution and be told he is owing one company Up to N5, 000,000 or more from a N250, 000 loan.

AS FAR AS THEY HAVE HARASSED HER, TELL HER NOT TO PAY A DIME AGAIN. IF THEY CALL HER, TELL THEM TO CALL THE POLICE OR CHARGE YOU TO COURT ESPECIALLY IF THE LOAN INTEREST IS ABNORMALLY HIGH
and what then happens to your credit scores?

I got a message like that once. It began, "A criminal has escaped. Do you know Eunice..." I later called the lady to ask her why she escaped and was being called a criminal and found out she took money from a loan app.
Lmao so funny, wait you mean you asked them 'why she escaped'

Our president is owing loans worth 20 Trillions of naira, and he is not bothered, he kept on borrowing more loans everyday.

Even our Senate president is encouraging Tinubu to keep borrowing loans everyday.

My brother, don't worry yourself, as far as our President is not worried, we are not worried about payment.

We are following the footsteps of our president, Bola Tinubu.

God bless Nigeria.

So recently I borrowed 250k from easimoni with hope of paying back this month, unfortunately the money I was expecting to pay back with didn't come again.

I searched their customer care number and called them to plead with them if I can be given an extension till September, I don't mind if they will add interest to it. I just don't want any to call me and harass me, I was told they don't give any extension.

Currently I don't know what to do, I don't have the money now, except from my savings which I can have access to by September.
Follow n Chat up The people's Parliament on Facebook on how to go about it

Thank you

So posting their obituary pictures or tagging them criminals who are wanted by the police is not defamatory but a statement of fact? Wow.. 😂😂😂

Haba!! From inability to pay back this month, you now want extension to September, 5 months away from now! It looks like you didn't have any plan to pay back before you even borrowed that money.
Do you know their daily interest on that 250k that you want to extend by five months?

Pay oooooo, there is what is called a credit score. Other banks will be looking at it. Find a way to settle it. Because if they report you to the crdit bureau, your other banks will not like to give you incentive. I discovered this the hard way, Access bank DTS stopped working and they refused to give me loan, salary advance and many small small benefits that i used to enjoy. Iater found iut that the COVID 19 loan was affecting my credit score.

I have settled my COVID 19 loan but the issue now is that NIRSAL micro finance bank will not give me letter of non indebtedness and my credit has not yet been updated by them with the credit bureau.

Anyone who has outstanding credit or loans, settle them o. Those calls are your least worries.

Some visa application and jobs also check your credit scores from the bureau and many nigerians are ignorant
765 score here. I have one loan too, from CBN micro finance bank, nalsar or something. Covid loan

I was just called right now I'm oweing palmpay 5300 and my bank 20k even opay I was expecting my salary so I could pay palmpay today the rest are in next month do you know that it is almost a month now or so I haven't been paid salary they keep telling me God will do it for me. Even people I'm oweing now harass me I went to buy ordinary egg #600 the woman said she doesn't do credit and she collected the eggs from me, that's how bad it can be I will work and teach kids who are rude, spoilt and mannerless and this kids hardly pay school fees so what am I working for.

Last year July salary was paid in September ask me how I managed to cope I did extra lessons then even the lesson I was feeding myself then I had savings ever since this year it's one salary delay or the other... that's when I started borrowing to eat. The loan is due on Monday if they don't give me something to sort these people out then I won't teach anymore,I have tried my best. This morning I inboxed them and they're telling me to hope on God.
45k that's my salary and I'm supposed to collect half salary as I'm here like this on God.

I'm tired of this type of life already.
It's so sad the peanuts these establishments pay their workers.
You've to venture unto buisness or seek bigger schools

Fairmoney has something they call top up loan. That one na death trap. Let's say u collected 500k initially, they will show u top up options running into millions. If u mistakingly take it, ur total payback will be in millions. Very anyhow people
