That is one of the brutal side of power and being a dominant member of a powerdrunk group,a leader who doubts your continuous unbroken loyalty and who you may pose a big threat to in the nearest future may decide to silence you forever.

How a ragtag gang of hungry, poorly trained and armed rebels defeat government forces with massive amounts of air power plus other modern weapons still beats my imagination l swear. I mean like where does all the billions of dollars these countries spend on arm and ammunitions really go tohuh

Are you happy that those who carried out the attack were successful? Just because the 3 Sahel countries are no longer members of ECOWAS.. Quite surprising.

Remember that we are also battling similar threats in Nigeria too, and the more they become successful in those neighbouring countries is the more they get emboldened to do same in Nigeria.
The man is in support of violence wherever it suits his bias and narrative no matter who is causing it without a care for the victims. How can one justify this mindless violence against a state just because the government is a military junta and a political decision to exit ECOWAS.

Started well on this forum but has degenerated into a vindictive fellow. Just sad.

Camara was a central figure in the military government that seized power after back-to-back coups in 2020 and 2021.

I knew something very dramatic will take place in those rogue military coupist-led states since they gleefully announced their ecowas exit.

They lost the Nigeria-ECOWAS protection because of the personal ambition of their coup leaders and are now being cannibalized by their more powerful adversaries.

Bammako has fallen.

Burkina Faso and Niger coupists are in hiding. Their countries record failed coups almost every month and their coupist leaders rule from seclusion.

Democracy, in spite of its challenges, give more citizens opportunity to participate in bringing peace and development to their nation.

Since the coupists violently took over in Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali, peace and progress took flight! They have no legitimacy to exercise Presidental powers.

But for Nigeria and our Galant President and our formidable Nigerian Armed Forces, Benin Republic with our Yoruba kith and kin indigenous Beninoise, may have joined the unfortunate bloc of countries led by impostors and coupists.

God bless Nigeria, President Tinubu and our Armed Forces for ever!

All the enemies of Nigeria will lule pii patapata to rotten and never come up!
In other words, you're implying that the trio leaving ECOWAS was a personal attack on Tinubu? The ECOWAS isn't Tinubus personal property, in fact, his diplomatic blunders in the days after the Niger coup in 2023 catalysed their exit from the bloc. Unfortunately, he lacked the clout and charisma to prevail on them to remain. Meanwhile, enter Buhari or Obasanjo. This is where class, statesmanship and charisma outshine bringandage and open threats on the African continent.

I saw a video of the capital Bamako and 90% of the roads were dusty, untarred dirt roads. To those of you calling for military coup, this guy's have been in power 6 years in Mali and they can't even fix the roads in their own capital city, the security situation they gave as an excuse to overthrow the civilian government is now 10x worse.

Bamoko will not fall. They have their reasons for existing the ECOWAS.

They're weak individually but they didn't realise that, now they are seeing it. No alliances, no protection against rampaging terrorists and militants

Well they have encircling the capital for months and layed siege to it while they built up forces. I cannot understand why the military was not able to break this siege and counter attacked before the rebel plans were complete.

What is very clear is that West Africa is under threat from ISIS and if a whole country falls the ripple effect all over the contingent state will be massive. We better get the west involved on time as we are not resourced or equiped to handle this threat.

The good people of Mali are happy with the military men hence they're cooperating with them. ECOWAS has nothing to offer them.
No one is happy with dictators ruling over them where human rights abuse is order of the day with lack of freedom and free speech.
No matter how well and good military starts with ruling any nation, their true colour will always show when their people start asking for return to democracy

Good analysis bro. Just to add to your point, West African leaders are the worst when it comes to pocketing funds meant for the military and incompetence. Just look at how their Northern counterparts have kept ISIS, Al-Queda and the rest quiet for long. Just look at how Kenya, Ethiopia and even ordinary Somalia have kept Al-Shahab quiet for long because they all modernised their millitary with massive investments and good structures. But a west African leader and his cronies will pocket all the money meant for arms and munitions, then make one incompetent person with no millitary brains at all the millitary chief, just because he's from his tribe. So it's always West Africa!!!

This was one of his more consequential blunders. In true BAT fashion, he refused to appoint ambassadors after taking office (and he is only just getting round to doing so, with about one year left to the end of his administration undecided) and the Niger coup caught everyone off guard. BAT obviously did not consult with the career diplomats in the Ministry of external affairs before his hasty and ill-thought out public ultimatum to the coupists in Niger - and they called his bluff outright. And here we are today.

This is not how foreign policy is run. And unfortunately, the errors don't end here. You can be sure that some countries will reject Nigeria's recently assigned ambassadorial nominees - apparently because the administration only has months to go before its tenure ends. There is no absolutely no reason for BAT's tardiness and unseriousness surrounding our representation at the highest level - in countries with whom Nigeria has relations. Nearly four years gone and BAT and his crew are only just waking up to the need for represenation at ambassadorial level. This just isn't how it works. undecided

The president has failed in diplomacy and intl affairs, just like he has in about every area. Nigeria has climbed down to the lowest rungs of the diplomatic heavyweight ladder. This was a country that hosted and facilitated the 2005 Abuja accords between fighting factions in the then Sudan. This formed the precursor to the eventual peaceful excising of Sudan. Nigeria has always been at the forefront of peace missions, as well as granting asylum to a host of exiles in Africa. How can you be a heavyweight and not have ambassadors around the world? The pre Tinubu Nigeria would have deployed diplomacy and negotiations to whip the eas states back into line....

Yes, the Military government is so perfect and working very well. That's why a ragtag army of supporter of APC terrorists have killed the Defence minister and almost taken over the country.

Good enough, ECOWAS and Nigeria has stayed far away from the crisis. If they did not break away to form the now useless AES sahel states, Nigeria Military would have been deployed by now to go and help them out. Once they are done with Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic will be next. That's the price they are paying for giving the middle finger to regional cooperation. By the way, why has your Traore not moved in to help Mali? Where is Russia their new puppet master in all of these? SMH.

Babablu bulabu.
Yet in your very eyes, our army recently prevented the success of a military coup in our neighbouring Benin Republic.

"A foiled coup attempt occurred in the Republic of Benin on December 7, 2025, when a group of soldiers led by Lieutenant Colonel Pascal Tigri declared the removal of President Patrice Talon on national television. The uprising, aimed at the government's security strategy in the north, was swiftly thwarted by loyalist forces and aid from Nigeria, which intervened with air support. "

You could have go on to tell us the best alternative to the subsidy removal when the country was already at the point of complete economic collapse with the oil subsidy you were enjoying then, not minding the financial burden on the country.

It's about three days ago and I said ' All these SAHEL COUNTRIES are not going to have Democracy ' as they have been indoctrinated by Russia Putin - the Maximum Leader of Russia.
Yet DEMOCRACY IS STILL THE BEST OF ALL GOVT AND The TRUTH IS THAT,WE AFRICANS 🌍 ARE NEW TO THIS SYSTEM,
Even the Americans of 250 yrs are still having hiccups !
Would the Young and Over Ambitious African -Soldiers 🪖 Allowed Africa to Enjoy DEMOCRACY, because having tasted Power, they now looks for different Excuses in staging Coup in Africa !
Just too bad 😞!
So,Mali,Niger Republic and Others will continue to have Instability on timely basis because that is what Coup is all about.

That is a foreign sponsored monicker. They are all over the Nigeria SM space spreading the message of their masters. The AES are under an attack of online misinformation & falsehoods and Nigeria is the centre hub of these attacks
When Nigeria does badly at security it is because the government is incompetent, which is true

But when the AES does badly at insecurity, it is a plot by the whites.

Okay. As for me, both Nigeria and the AES are incompetent

Also army coups usually lead to a lot of soldiers being moved from the front line to the capital to act as the new presidential guard. Anarchy results
