Migration is not our main economic strategy in Nigeria. I promise you that if a tenth of the inhabitants of Lagos should migrate to south Africa, the country's citizens will not even have tears to shed.

When I was growing up, we used to stroll around many areas in the JHB city center, these areas were clean, well maintained..etc today though those same areas are filthy and overcrowded you hardly find South Africans anymore.. you hear all sorts of languages from Lingala, Chichewa, Shona, Igbo, Banguli,etc..not your own.. your own local flavor is no more, your city no longer recognizable.. like it or not this will create feelings of resentment... its natural..

These are results of too much immigration, you cannot import people from different "failed states" into one place, an expect that place to remain the same..

The Whites left the city center by the 90's citing the same reasons you are enumerating.
They left it for you guys and the place became dilapidated, crime ridden, buildings abandoned, unproductive and property values significantly reduced.
When you saw the whites running up north, your BEE buddies followed suite right behind them leaving those same downtown areas.
In come the migrants flocking to cheap areas to find accommodation/make a living and viola you have a large set of people hurdled in one area for safety which is why 50% of migrants reside in Gauteng and predominantly in those CBD's

You thought the complain was only crime? No, grime as well... and a whole myriad of issues, but for now lets stick to the issue of grime.. Tell me this, why is that after metro police removes illegal immigrants vendors from the streets, our cities become clean a week or so until the same people return? What does it tell you? Cape Town is a city that is pricing out ordinary South Africans of all races.. this a hallmark of touristy cities all over the world.. People are complaining of this, but again understand nucance and context here, A South African that is looking to live in Camps Bay in the first place..is well to do South African.. professionals, businesses men.. etc.. you're expect this person to do what exactly? People complain of what affects them directly..the issue here is proximity not selective outrage. If you take a trip to the slums of Phillipi in the same Cape Town, people will complain of menial jobs jobs being taken away from them because illegals are willing to work for next to nothing.. therefore pricing them out..why would this profile of a person care that a South Africa professional is being priced out Camps bay by a German?
