Breadfruit.
My first encounter with this food was when we were young,my mom brought it home and boiled it for us as lunch,it tasted somehow in our mouth, but then I don't have option,I forced it down my throat.

I really disliked it.
Some days later, she brought it home again , she fried it for us but this time we enjoyed it,it was delicious.

What is your experience eating breadfruit? which one you like most:boiled or fried breadfruit?

I think it tastes better when fried. The boiled version makes me want to vomit my intestines. Terrible food I must say

Exactly,the boiled one makes me dislike it, the only time I ate the boiled one was when I was very hungry,I needed to force it down to satiate my hunger.
But the fried one is the real deal.

Ile Ife's staple food. Ife people are good at turning it into "pounded yam".

Breadfruit...don't know why it is named that though.
I was never a fan of it. It is nothing close to the real pounded yam.

I actually do like it. Boiled, roasted, every variation of it.

It is called gbere fruit in yoruba language. Very soft and delicious especially if you pounded it. It is my favorite food while growing up because your stool will look soft and red

I have never tasted it.. I hope not to taste it..may be nutritious though...

But from the look of it the fried one goes well

I hate that fruit with passion. We do have it then. Anytime is prepared, just count me out. I can vomit my intestine at slightest smell of that fruit. More annoying when it's spoilt and drop on the ground.

Breadfruit, very lovely when fried,its a major snack across the border in Benin Republic,goes along with sauce.

Bread fruit- ate it a few times as a kid. Made sense, tasted like yam with a hint of fruit.

Would definitely love to try it again some day.

Apparently this is not soursop

We used to call it Gbere fruit in the village those years. We used it for pounded yam them, instead of yam itself.

I don't like it. My grandma of blessed memory liked cooking it those days. There was one other one that looks like water yam,white in Color and a bit bitter when cooked.. I no dey join her ..

They use to sell it fried by the gate side after closing hours in secondary school. It was sold with the lieks of ice/pure water,fried fish,crayfish,crabs ati ijekuje ati be be lo.

I used to enjoy it sha as it was very cheap compared to other stuffs of the same size.

I use to be scared of the fruit let alone eat it.
Grew up in the city, I had no "eating" experience
