Exactly the problem of Nigeria economy. 13 children with nothing for them from parents and you want government to give everything free to the 13 children of a security.

What is "on time"? What good has marrying off these children done their society? Are they not the hotbed of Islamic insecurity, globally?
Women's fertility decline with age! What's happening down south, especially southeast, is that ladies delay marriage into their 30s and by the time they get married, fertility challenges set in.

I'm not advocating for marrying off children like you're trying to twist my words, but any girl who is up to legal age of sexual consent and who wants to have children without delays should try and marry early

I'm not surprised about Lagos data, how will a woman be fertile when she is already on the road before 5 in the morning and enter house 11 in the night, spending the day jumping from one vehicle to the other or be under sun through out just to make money.
I'm even surprised Lagos reached 3.2 for people who spend few hours at home.

I wish there was more literacy rate in the North, even at that, the literate ones still marry more than one wives. Such traditions and culture should be forgotten. You’re only plundering your offspring into poverty and uncertain future

You say it like it's a bad thing. What is this talk of "without delays"? Whose timeline are you worried about? And for whose benefit?

What is happening in the north is pure foolishness. People who cannot manage their exisitng population will double their population in 15 years. Northern Nigeria is already a hotbed of insecurity and poverty, how much worse in the coming decades ?

Nigeria's fertility gap is wider than most people realize. Which factor do you think matters most?
🔴 Poverty
🟡 Religion/culture
🟢 Access to education
🔵 Healthcare availability

The number of children a couple decides to have does not in any way translate to their fertility. The topic should have been number of children over woman.

State with Highest Fertility abi state with lowest usage of Postinor
The caption should have been States with Highest Family Planning. If you check it, 5 out of 6 South-South States are in the 3 bracket. So I think education is a factor here. Check out Abuja and Lagos too. Others at the highest wrung of the ladder are mass producers who sometimes end up donating foot soldiers to bandits and the likes. People should give birth to the number they can train and cater for. It is not about fertility. I'm sure even women in South south, Abuja and Lagos can give birth to 10 children each, IF THEY SO DESIRE. BUT THEY DON'T.

When you have your own daughters, advise them to delay marriage. You can also advise your sisters to do the same. At least you'll be helping us control our population. However, if others choose to not to delay marriage but to marry and birth their offsprings on time, it should never be your headache!

Plenty birthday in the North equivalent to plenty hunger and starvation. Hence making it a hub for terrorists

Does this include mortality rate at birth stage?
It's not fertility rates, but states that gives birth without control or thinking of what to feed the kids with thereby becoming the poorest states.

No one is asking why women in low fertility state are having difficulty giving birth, is this intentional or biological?
Fertility rate does not mean that they are having difficulty. In Rivers for example it's more common to see a family with just the Father, mother and 3 kids. In some cases you'll see 4 kids max. Most homes you find more than 3 kids currently are mainly homes that keep giving birth because they a looking for either a boy or a girl.

It's not about difficulty, but the current economic reality of life, including education, cultural adjustments to modern reality, exposure and many women seeking to get to the top in all ramifications in the society than just remaining at home to produce babies.

Also there are more single independent women now than before, who depend on their own hustle instead of becoming a baby making machine.

It is my headache because those same people will be bothering me to help pay school fees, to help to pay for medical bills for children they cannot take care of.

Eventually those children will resort to crime to pay for the basics of life. It will be they who break into your home to steal from you.

As it lurches from one disgraceful yet avoidable crisis to the next, northern Nigeria is the greatest advert for contraceptions and abortion in the history of mankind.

Having one's children early does not entail having more than one can cater for.
Re: Yobe Recorded Nigeria’s Highest Fertility Rate At 7.5 Births Per Woman by ViceGovernor: 9:07pm On Apr 29
Professor Thomas Malthus theory of population states that any society with a geometric increase in population (2,4,6,8...) and an arithmetic increase in production (1,2,3,4....) is headed for doom.

Nigeria's resources is not increasing on par with the population growth rate and that is worrisome because nature will prune it for us if we don't, there are two ways population is checked which is human or natural, human is things like birth control and family planning, putting a ceiling on births per family.

Nature's own is totally brutal, earthquakes, famine, diseases (bubonic plague, ebola), flooding and other natural disasters.

A choice has to be made by the government or nature will make it for them.
COVID one 9ine is an example of nature making a choice to depopulate the earth....every single continent lost a percentage of the population.

The world does need eugenics like the dollar Bill.....but in the end the gates of hell shall not prevail

That is what it usually entails, that's why the rest of the world spent much of the previous century trying to stamp out teenage pregnancy.

Teen/young mothers are too inexperienced and poorly resourced to be expected to raise stable children. Nigeria is proof of this.

If Nigeria does not look for a way to put population growth in check, forget development because no matter the rate of development, population pressure will keep making it insignificant.

We need to legalise abortion and return capital punishment.
.abi.. for Nigeria population is 230 million with out of the 230 million...160 million are youths..out of the 160 million youths how many have jobs or are engaged In productive activities.. for they say an idle mind is the devil's workshop. . and Nigeria daily birth rate is 20,000 babies daily according to google.. Since when has it become the duty of the woman to provide for the needs of her offsprings in a marriage? Last I checked, it is the man that provides and that makes this your arguement invalid, unless you're talking about girls having children out of wedlock.
