blackbriar:I have been seeing schools of 10m+ total package So is it possible I apply for masters, with only the budget of the admission fee and the first year school fee, then work for the second year school fee? |

blackbriar:Thanks once again please I have some questions on this. 1. Will there be any limitations to working while on this program? 2. Will I be required to leave the country after I'm done with this program or I can still stay back and work? 3. Is there a pathway to PR while/after this program? 4. What are the cons of a research program over masters. Thanks boss |

SpreshMan:Those agents are not interested in African countries because the number of Africans studying at Japanese institutions pales when compared to South East Asia or South Asia. You might find them, but are they interested in working with you? p.s. I don't know any agent, as I have had a similar response from GoGoNihon. |

LalaGreen247:Yes. The issue is that when the school requests evidence of living expenses, it wants provision for two years, and this provision should exclude tuition and admission fees. Except when not asked, just provide the provision for two years. I don't know about non-national universities, but at national universities, you are required to pay fees per semester, not per year. So in each semester, you will be required to pay for that period. Thus, you have the time to work so as to raise money for the following semester. Since national universities are the most affordable, if you max the hours working at a warehouse, as people I know did, you can raise the following semester's fees. But na your body go tell you. This is the reason you should hunt for scholarships in your first semester, so you are not compelled to work odd jobs for odd hours so you can raise money. |

Gerrard59:Are there schools in Japan that allows this? |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by Gerrard59(m): 3:51am On Apr 18 |
LalaGreen247:Students are allowed to apply for scholarships once they arrive in the country. Get your supervisor's consent and the required documents, that's all. |

LalaGreen247:A study plan? Like what you would daily? However, kindly refer to Page 47 of this thread. |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 9:28am On Apr 18 |
LalaGreen247:All Universities allow this. However these scholarships are only available to students on ground physically in Japan. But please speak to your professor about scholarships in your introduction email. |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 9:38am On Apr 18 |
Gerrard59:PLEASE and PLEASE Follow this advise Also be mindful of what city the national university is situated, so that you can easily get part time jobs. |

@blackbriar @Gerrard59 and others, Please you guys should not be angry with me for bothering too much abeg, many things dey man mind. My story goes this way, I have 3 kids of 7,5 and 3 years. I am a Chinese resident permit holder and also an importer of electrical, electronics and used auto parts from China where I partly reside. I own a business in Nigeria that is fetching me good six figures but my wife is insisting that she must run her Masters degree in Japan this year because she’s a professional teacher which we have applied to 3 schools already. My problem is that can my 3 kids live in Japan with her while I come back to continue my China-Nigeria importation business? Is there anyway she can cope with handling three kids alone in Japan while attending lectures? Is there a way I can also add my 15 years old child minder in the application so that she will go to Japan with them? What if I decide to quit my business in Nigeria to relocate to Japan with them, although I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a poor grade, is there anyway I can fix my life up in Japan so that I can still be taking care of my family and be footing other bills as usual? Abeg make una no vex for the plenty question because that’s how it is in my mind. Thanks for your time |

| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 2:11am On Apr 28 |
uchman:This is very tough. Your kids are so young that they need their mum. Your wife would not be able to cope with 3 very young kids in Japan. And daycare is super expensive. Please do not give up your business. PLEASE DO NOT QUIT YOUR BUSINESS IN NIGERIA. You and your wife need to have some long and serious discussion. My humble 2 cents. |

Hi guys, after messaging some of the professor, some seems worried/doubt about my ability to self-support my self, how do you guys navigate around this?? Secondly, is it too late to aim for October, because a female prof told me that the October batch in her school started processing their visa last month |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by Gerrard59(m): 2:56am On Apr 29 |
LalaGreen247:What did you tell them? Secondly, is it too late to aim for October, because a female prof told me that the October batch in her school started processing their visa last monthIf I am not mistaken, I got my then admission letter in April/May ahead of the October session. The COE takes about three months to process, could be slower or faster these days now that VHF is involved. All things been equal, the applicant should have obtained the COE by August. |

Gerrard59:I told them that I'm self sponsored, but they keep telling me international students are on scholarship Noted, thanks |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by blackbriar: 1:18am On Apr 30 |
LalaGreen247:It is a bit difficult to understand your explanation. Are the schools you have applied to saying that only international students with scholarsips are allowed? What schools are you looking at, National or Private Universities? How have you worded your introduction mail? |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by Gerrard59(m): 4:54am On Apr 30 |
LalaGreen247:You use forceful/confident words to express yourself as the person willing to finance the education. Be explicit and direct. Something like this: Prof: How do you intend to fund your education? You: My parents would fund my education, including the living expenses and tuition fees. From my research, estimated living expenses for international students in Fukuoka (put a link to where you found the estimates) are 100K yen for a month. A two year master's brings this to 2.4m yen. Together with the admission fee and tuition fee, my parents would fund them. Nevertheless, if there are private scholarships, I would still be interested, especially for research purposes. When you are asked to provide proof of financial statements, you provide the ones bearing your sponsor, in this case, your parents. You have to be bold in the way you let them know you or your loved ones can handle the expenses. |

LalaGreen247:You didn't answer his question about whether it's a national or private university? |
| Re: Japanese Visa And Travelling To Japan by Gerrard59(m): 3:42am On May 01 |
evanpass:Submit a bank statement showing the equivalent or more than the equivalent in naira. Preferably if you've a domiciliary account, submit the SoA with the foreign currency (e.g. usd). This is the best as it becomes easier for them to convert. Nevertheless, the yen is in the toilet, so tuition fees will continue to "look" low in the coming months especially as long as the US war on Iran continues. |
