We were amongst the first sets because back then my account was every important to my bank as I did business really regularly and in digits they loved



So they just said , we have this form for you bllaa

I told them to fill in all my details with them


that is it turned out latter to be a networked information that will have to tally with other information in places like NIN and voters cards


Since then, reconciling the information has been a challenge.

My NIN birth date doesn't match with my other information and that if the NIN was actually the faults of the guy that inputted the data into their online server


I am now told that i need to pay almost 30,000 to solve that problem



Anybody wey promise free upgrade in those platform that him I go vote for in the dining election


I no need any other gift .. if Tinubu say him make am free for the next 6 months for Nigerians to update and online too because the first problem had to do with the pressure the guys was working under

i had similar experience with my BVN date of birth. I did my BVN with GTbank and somehow they made a mistake on my DOB data, I resolved it by getting a court affidavit which cost less than ₦2,000 , that was in 2015.

That means loan apps won't have access to our bank accounts through our BVN? They can withdraw money from our accounts?

This rule is nonsense. As much as it makes sense, it is not a long term thinking. We do not have permanent phone numbers. The number tied to my NIN can expire. People can and should have the right to change numbers any number of times they want. Nigeria should decide whether they are using NIN or not. A phone number should not be a personal identifiable number, it is even dangerous. The other time Minister of Interior under Buhari said no passport without NIN. Now, CBN wants to limit your BVN with NIN and OTPhone number. Let's stop making life more difficult for the average Nigerian.

Edit: A phone number is not an identity number and should never be tied to an identity. It is something you have, not something you are. There is no law that insists you must have a phone number for your bank account.

Phone numbers are allotments to the network providers by FG. If the providers don't use them, they return the allotment to the FG (lease). Is FG now saying the phone numbers are now ID? They are no longer leadeholds?

I can guarantee you that even with all these policy changes these crooks will somehow still be in the business of scamming people. After all the NiNs, BVNs, Sim registrations, etal, these crooks, bandits and kidnappers are still in business and the government seems helpless to do anything.
These policies will simply make life harder for ordinary Nigerians and not these crooks who are devicing new and innovative ways to steal.

You will give bankers you real details they will intentionally fill in robbish so when you come back to correct it they will charge you money.

It is the same scam they do in NIN offices nationwide.....telcos also do that nonsense.

It is now 60k to correct date of birth on NIN. That is if the price hasn't moved again because I think it started from N9,000 or so

you are right, and it’s so frustrating, that’s the more reason why I insist on seeing the computer screen as they are filling my details, because I hate visiting banks frequently.

I am talking about DOB in BVN It was a mistake because I wasn't the only one who came to the bank to complain about the same issue, even a GTbank staff was having similar issues, and I didn't pay them a dime to rectify it, all I did was to provide my birth certificate and court affidavit ( which I got from the Anambra high court for ₦1,550) , I presented all these documents to them and in less than 4 days it was rectified.

Why would they refuse to rectify the issue after you provided a valid court affidavit? Unless you're unaware that a court affidavit is all you need, they probably won't tell you that at the bank, but before any bank can effect that change They MUST get a court affidavit. If you want the bank to run it for you then be prepared to pay that hefty amount, but if you're enlightened on this things you just go to court and get it at a cheaper rate and bring it to the bank.

I told they said there won't be charges for certain amount when making transfer from May 1st? I just made transfer and was charged as usual.
