NDC Begins Nationwide Congresses, Fixes National Convention for May 9 in Abuja

*NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS HOLDS MAIDEN CONGRESSES NATIONWIDE, SETS FOR NATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE 9TH MAY, 2026*

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) commences its maiden party Congresses nationwide today, 1st May, 2026.

According to the official timetable released by the party, the wards/polling units' Congresses are to hold on the 1st and 2nd of May, 2026 respectively, while the Local Government Congresses are scheduled for Monday, 4th May, 2026. Furthermore, the party has also scheduled its Zonal Congresses to hold on the 6th of May, 2026 respectively.

On the back of the ongoing Congresses, the party is also set for its maiden National Party Convention which is scheduled to hold in Abuja on the 9th of May, 2026. Preparations for the National Party Convention have been concluded by the Convention Planning Committee of the party and all is set for the big event which shall host accredited party faithfuls as well as the relevant INEC officials who are expected to monitor and observe the conduct of the Convention as mandated in the electoral Act. Security agencies have also been put on notice to ensure adequate security and safety for accredited party faithfuls, officials and other invited guests.

With the benefit of hindsight, the various State Officers across the 36 States of the Federation (the FCT inclusive) as well as the National Officers of the party are all expected to carry out their delegated responsibilities to ensure that the scheduled exercises do go on according to laid down party guidelines and official timetable as well as in line with the provisions of the constitution of the party.

On the issue of logistics, security and materials required for the National and State exercises, the party leadership has ensured that adequate arrangements and coordination have been put in place to ensure seamless, hitch-free and successful outcome across the country.

When is Peter Obi going to join them? If they hold this convention without Obi signifying interest, it is game over for him and his presidential ambition. I sincerely want him to contest so that he can be roundly and resoundingly defeated by Tinubu home and away once and for all. That's why I am helping him to look for a party to contest at all costs.

OBI AND KWANKWASO should move into NDC. And leave that ADC.

What do you think would be the faith of APC should all the opposition's come together?......APC ain't gonno let that happen so therefore, they would want to sponsor most of them parties to stand solo so as to divide votes ...As for money for sponsorship, bro...money dey in excess...Thanks to looting , extreme taxation and borrowing..

Any serious aspirants under ADC should better jump here, before NDC closes her gate.

ADC is not looking like a party that will be on the ballot....except there is political solution to settle all aggrieved parties and they withdraw all court cases.

The best bet for Dickson is to go for his Senatorial seat again.

He can never win the 2027 Presidential Election.

He should be concentrating on his party winning more seats in the National and State Assemblies
