Atiku Invited To The U.S. To Speak At Congress

During a productive phone call between former Nigerian Vice President @atiku and a senior, influential member of Congress, the Congressman extended a personal invitation for the former Vice President to visit Congress as his guest. Vice President Atiku graciously accepted but made it clear that he is currently needed at home in Nigeria, but will ensure that he visits Congress soon. This stands in contrast to recent remarks by the current Nigerian President, H.E. Bola #Tinubu (@officialABAT). In a video released yesterday, he appears to blame this firm for his challenges, refers to his fellow statesman @atiku as an enemy, and suggests that legitimate concerns about his government’s failure to protect ordinary Nigerians are part of an effort to remove him from power. Constitutionally, a new president cannot suspend a law passed by the national assembly - he doesn't have such powers. This is not a military regime.

He can only amend it through the same parliament, that's why Tinubu made sure the NASS passed it into law. But then, this is Nigeria so anything goes.

But Tinubu is already a Southerner and is currently President. Why not just let him complete the turn of the South instead since he's doing an excellent job and protecting southern interests? That's what you're indirectly promoting, isn't it? Tinubu's closet supporter too ashamed to openly associate with his candidate. Atiku has never prevented you from exercising your voting franchise. Feel free to vote whomever you want. That's the beauty of democracy. Don't just try to use the courts to stop others from contesting or demand that anyone steps down for your candidate.
