RCCG Won’t Remove Oluremi Tinubu As Ordained Minister — Pastor Adeboye by Omooba77(op): 9:43am On May 02
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has declared that the church will not bow to external pressure calling for the removal of Senator Oluremi, President Bola Tinubu's wife, from her position as an ordained minister.

Addressing a massive congregation during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp on Friday, Pastor Adeboye broke his silence on the brewing controversy regarding Senator Oluremi’s dual role as a political figure and a cleric.

The revered General Overseer clarified that Mrs. Tinubu’s journey within the church's hierarchy was not a recent development tied to her husband’s political ascent.

He noted that she was ordained as an Assistant Pastor over 10 years ago, long before President Tinubu signalled his intention to run for the nation's highest office.

Adeboye emphasised that the First Lady earned her title through merit and followed the church's rigorous spiritual and administrative protocols.

She went through the full process of ordination and has not violated any of the church’s guidelines,” Adeboye stated as quoted by Arise TV, dismissing claims that her status as First Lady should disqualify her from the pulpit.

He maintained that the RCCG is a spiritual institution governed by internal laws and will not be intimidated by outside critics seeking to influence its clerical appointments.

The statement comes amid growing debate on social media and within certain religious circles about the "neutrality" of high-ranking church officials who hold prominent political positions.

Critics have argued that Oluremi’s role in the presidency could create a conflict of interest with her responsibilities as a pastor in one of Africa's largest Pentecostal denominations.

Why the push for her removal in the first place?

Why should you remove her? Who doesn't know that RCCG is a disgrace to the Christendom? A church that makes lying lawyers and politicians an ordained pastor has no business being called a Christian church. It is a business centre.

These tiny-tiny churches aren't learning from the Catholic church where priests who joined politics are forbidden from officiating church services; they only know how to criticise the truly universal church.

It's on record that she invoked the "gods of the land" -a pastor- on a certain tribe for perceived lack of support.

On the basis of idolatry should she be removed

The bible says the man and the woman are one in marriage abi? So this means every evil Tinubu is doing, his wife is part of it or does the RCCG believe in oneness in marriage only when it is convenient?

Of course. Have I been rude or intolerant towards you if you did not deserve that?

Furthermore, are you a progressive person who love Nigeria and want her progress? I doubt that. No Obidient is.

Not towards me, but towards Peter Obi, yes.

What crime has he committed? He simply wants to vote and be voted for, like every other Nigerian, including you. That’s his right, and your right as enshrined in the Constitution.

You ask if I’m progressive, if I love Nigeria. Of course I am. I’m a progressive, and I love this country. But you, I doubt it.

Because of the pervasive madness in the country.

If this is done, soon they will ask for Adeboye to divorce his wife.
