Marco Polo S1..... 7/10

One of the rallying points to me seriously considering this show a month ago was probably the nudity and g0re and being an epic....but the story got a lot more interesting and entertaining as it unfolded.

It chronicles the Mongol Empire and it's expansion and decline several decades after the death of the Imperial and mercurial warlord and strategist Genghis Khan after his Mongolian Horde swept through much of China and Central Asia. The Mongols at their height controlled a sizeable empire challenging any civilization known to human history in the 12th Century. Rivalled only by the British Empire in total land mass controlled. The Mongols territory stretched from Eastern Europe, Central Asia down to China. A magnificent feat. Only a shame the empire could barely last for two centuries, mostly due to infighting and the Mongolian Way.

This show follows the struggle and tussle for power by Kublai Khan, the grandson of the Great Genghis Khan. It follows the Khan and his struggles of filling the shoes left by his culture's biggest figure. The weight of expectations, the balance of leadership, the quelling of rebellion and internal infighting as well as putting down unruly family members.

It also features another prominent adventurer of history, Marco Polo as the titular character and his exploits in the royal court of the strongest Empire at the time.

It is a political feast. Similar in practice to Game of Thrones albeit without the elegance, mastery, storytelling, acting superiority, mercurial screenwriting prowess, magic and fantasy world of the HBO show's execution.

This one follows real life characters and history unlike HBO's fictional world but it contains some good measure of embellishments, I believe.

Marco Polo S2.......6/10

More infighting and internal politics and scheming. Brutal betrayals and punishment and revenge and bloodletting. The nudity remains as usual but not as novel as it seems at first and definitely less stimulating. The pacing and storytelling of this season which became the final season after it was cancelled by Netflix gave a lot of promises in the first few episodes but faltered in the middle till the end.

I was just more or less waiting of dragging my feet to just finally complete it and tick off a box and get closure of what came to be with the characters and the expanded Empire of Kublai Khan.
It lost the potential it started off with in the first season. But is an entertaining watch at least if you like Epics and Asian history. Albeit with some artistic freedom in accuracy.

I haven't seen the original movie with Denzel Washington, I saw the trailer of this one, didn't really feel it.

I downloaded the original movie instead.

Best episode was the 6th episode, it was madness.

I can't really write much about it as it is a new anime and lots of people are yet to see it. Anyways, these are my opinion. If you can bear the 1st episode and the blaring 'hero music' you would come to enjoy it.

I like Xylo's ex-fiancée, she just kept insulting him with simple English everytime.

It was very good....... Xylo seems like a man that would still have much more female entanglements by season 2.
I don't envy him at all, in summary it was a good watch.

I really hope they do a small back story for Xylo and fiancée in S2

I don't know where this new season is taking us to, but so far so good with the first 2 episodes I've watched, I'm liking what I've seen so far.

Somewhat promising even tho I haven't really gotten the central plot yet, there's still a few constants from the show we know.... The need for validation and unspoken competition between Cassie and Maddy.

I'm literally watching From right now from the beginning and I can't understand why they can't just lock all the fckn windows and doors!!! Like padlock them in the night so it won't be so easy for fckn kids to open, they're just fucking dumb asf in my opinion.

Is that a thing that people do on a regular? I think I have done it once, the movie was boring, I just needed to see how it ended.

The Pitt S2....... 9/10

Easily the best show this year has got to offer alongside A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms.

The first two episodes came and I was like okay, I'm digging this. The entire season was a feast.
It wasn't as intense and brutal like last season where we watched the episodes in the aftermath of the concert shooting.

Still, tgis season delivered epic goodness. It was the best overall on character development as most of the stars got good and decent backstory of their individual struggles.

More was shown about Dr Robbie, and the new doc Baran Al Hashimi gave a new friendly work competition to the show. Top tier show all round.
Nurse Dana played by Catherine LaNasa is probably winning that Emmy once more this season. So many characters to really like and root for, even the new guys were superb with the Chinese lady Joy being my favourite.

One of the niche genre shows of late I've truly come to enjoy.
