The "Ok-atiku" Dream Is Over: What Next for The ADC? by nairalandankrah(op):
We all saw the photos. We all heard the promises. The ADC was supposed to be the "Great Alliance" where Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso finally united to take back Nigeria in 2027.

But today’s news that Peter Obi has dumped the ADC changes everything.
If the "Third Force" cannot even stay together for six months without someone jumping ship, how can they run a country?
Atiku has no intention of stepping down, and Obi clearly isn't interested in being a "permanent running mate." At what point did Did Obi realize he was being sidelined within the ADC hierarchy..?

Obi cited "toxic environments" and "internal sabotage." This is the third party (PDP, LP, and now ADC) where he has faced the same issue. At what point do we ask if the problem is the parties, or if Obi simply cannot survive the "dirty" reality of Nigerian party politics?

With Obi out, the ADC is now just "Atiku’s Party." The dream of a united opposition is officially fractured.

Can Atiku and Amaechi hold the ADC together without the Obidient energy?

Until obi returns to APGA he can't be successful politically. He will just be moving upandan. No success. May we not labour in vain. That curse is still working against him

Obi and Kwankwaso leaving ADC marks the beginning the of end for the party. The party has many legal landmines ahead which will be litigated to the Supreme Court at some point. The Attorney General also went to court recently, asking the party to be deregistered. Any serious politician will not stay in such party.

The defection of Obi and Atiku from ADC will surely move the momentum of the opposition in favour of NDC. There will obviously be less talk in the media about ADC going forwards. Also, there will be more defections from the ADC.

Lastly, if Tinubu really want to get ADC off the ballot like some opposition voices alleged, now is the time to achieve it. Through court judgements, ADC or Atiku can be taken off ballot without so much noise. The argument of running a one-party democracy would fly so much when there are Obi/Kwankwaso in another party doing well and gaining media attention. People will move on quickly and some might even justify it, saying it is the turn of the South.

It might just be Tinubu vs Obi/kwakwanso.

Just watch how ADC issues would be relaxed now because they would prefer a 3 horse race.

God Pass dem
