Why did Peter obi leave ADC, can someone tell me what’s actually happening?

OBI is not serious about any contest, he is looking for free ticket so that he can be referred to as former presidential candidate

In simple words: Obi is afraid of primaries and has gone to a party where he cannot be challenged. He just wants to be on the ballot for the sake of it. That's all.

That man should ignore his useless advisers and come to Nairaland more often.

It was all over this place that Atiku is going to be the Presidential candidate of ADC, by hook or by crook, despite the BS Peter Obi's advisers were telling him.

Now, despite all the paddy paddy with unscrupulous types like Dino, he has departed to go and steal athe mandate of a bonafide NDC member.

To answer your question sha, it is his lack of political compass or principles that is making him leave.

Peter Obi went with respected Southeastern leaders like Abaribe, etc to an elaborate event in Enugu to declare for the ADC. He has now left without a little care for any of those men or their political ambitions and the collective interest of the Southeast. That is not how to lead. I now understand the likes of Alex Otti and Obaze better. Even Zubby Michael who joined the ADC a few weeks ago was placed in the dark and has now been left with the short-end of the stick.

Not exactly. You can argue about individuals but when you talk about regional interests, the North is currently VP to Tinubu from the SW, and power will head North in 2031. The North also voted Tinubu and gave him 5.6m votes. Just before Tinubu, Buhari was president for 8 years, just as Osinbajo from the SW was VP. Like I said, remove the individuals from the equation, the only question that matters at the end of the day is, "what's in it for my region?". If all you care about is teaching Atiku a lesson, then I can't help it. Atiku is just one old man and a former VP too.

That wasn't an insult. Just a hard reality check but I know that will be your comeback. Respect to the enterprising spirit of the Igbos but no matter how many Obi Cubanas they are in the SE and how many individual road projects they embark upon in the East, it won't amount to the scale and opportunities that a Lagos coastal road will bring, or a rebuilt Carter bridge, or a renovated airport or seaport, etc. It's time to quit these emotional politics and play politics to win. The Southeastern children yet unborn will thank you for it. Let them have the opportunity to live and thrive in their own region with dignity and respect. This has to happen sooner or later. When will you lot accept that opposition is not an attack on your region? Was Tinubu not in opposition for over 14 years before becoming president? Must all Northerners and indeed, all Nigerians support Tinubu? Enough Northerners already support Tinubu. He got 5.6m votes in the North, far larger than he got in the South. All Northern governors are also in the APC. But it will be foolhardy for you lot to think Tinubu will cease to be opposed under a democracy. Even Makinde and Adeleke from the SW oppose Tinubu and justifiably so because Tinubu also opposed Obasanjo. Grow up please and tell Tinubu to stop stifling, incarcerating and intimidating opposition figures. That's not democracy. It is this high-handedness and intimidation that is fast eroding his Northern base.
