I don’t know if it’s just me, but I genuinely hate seeing these common fashion mistakes 😭

What surprises me the most is that even so-called celebrities and “big men” make them—and nobody seems to notice.

The truth is this:
No matter how expensive your clothes are, if you make any of these mistakes, you instantly look cheap.

Honestly, I find it a bit rude to correct people directly—especially when they’re older or clearly more established. So instead, I decided to create a channel where I can talk about these things freely.

And it’s not just men… ladies’ own is sometimes even more surprising 😅

How can you look so beautiful and still break such simple style rules?

Here are 5 very common ones:

1. Belt and Shoe Mismatch ❌
This one is everywhere.

I’ve attended events with top dignitaries and speakers—people who spoke so well—but their dressing? Completely off.
Black belt… brown shoes.

Or worse—random combinations.
And I’m just sitting there wondering, how did you prepare so well but miss something this simple?

Honestly, it’s better to dress casually than to try to look corporate and get this wrong.

👉 Rule: If your shoes are black, your belt must be black. Same goes for brown.

2. Too Many Colors ❌

This one hurts my eyes.

Some people dress like a rainbow 🌈
Black shoes, blue trousers, yellow shirt, brown watch, red cap… 😐

Anything more than 2–3 colors is too much.

👉 Simple rule: Keep it clean. 2–3 colors max.
That’s what gives you class.


3. Oversized/Baggy Clothes ❌

This is not fashion.

Your clothes should fit your body—not too tight, not too loose.

Especially if you’re on the shorter side, baggy clothes will make you look even smaller and unstructured.

👉 Well-fitted clothes = instant upgrade

4. Wearing the Wrong Shoes ❌

This one is painful to watch.

You wear a clean shirt, tuck it in nicely, wear proper trousers…
Then ruin everything with sneakers.
😩

👉 Sneakers are not for corporate outfits.
Go for loafers or proper dress shoes instead.


5. Dressing Wrong for the Occasion ❌

Not every outfit fits every place.

You can’t wear gym clothes to a proper outing…
And you can’t dress corporate for casual hangouts.

👉 Always match your outfit to the occasion.

My favourite colour shirts are black, ash, brown, white and dark blue. They look mature and classy on my body especially if they are fit clothes(size L or XL), I so much dislike baggy clothes, I prefer ones that if I wear it will bring out my fit physique.

It doesn't matter how costly a shirt costs what matters is how fit you look on the cloth, if you see a fat man on a cloth of 20k he'll look funny and awkward but if a fit man wears a cloth of 5k he and the cloth will look appealing.

I can wear anything as long as I am covered and neat. If I like I wear Indian attire over baggy jeans, non of your business. Most of my native attire now is worn on jeans and any shoe even canvas as I like , non of anybody's business.

My Kind Of Clean Version

These rules were never written in stone. The same way they were created over time, they can be broken over time. Many of these things you called rules were considered abnormal decades/centuries back.

As far as no individual or group is offended or attacked by anyone's choice of fashion, flexibility is allowed. The way you emphasized "breaking style rules", "fashion mistakes", etc. itself is a mistake. OP, rest!

I should wear something that won't allow my balls to breathe fine because of fashion.

Not too tight, not too loose is fine by me.

Most of these very tight and not very comfortable fashions na poor people dey take am serious pass.

Today, I was deep in thought about many issues of life and your signature post ending crossed my mind.

Well, rules change over time, and what was considered violation of fashion rules some time back, becomes fashionable with the passage of time.

For example, it was considered "aboki" fashion style to wear sneakers with traditional wears such as "senator" some years ago, but right now, it's an acceptable fashion style!
