Pork, especially when fried, is one of the best meats there is.

I had never eaten pork until one night at school. The restaurant didn't have any meat, so I bought only egusi soup, then went to a bar (Omega Bar, Hilltop, UNN) to buy meat... I thought it was beef.

Then the guy told me it was pork. I didn't want to buy it initially. The guy told me that if I bought it and didn't like it, he would refund me. I got a few pieces. After eating it, I rushed back to buy more. Baba laughed at me, eeh.

Lol, I regretted not eating pork all these years. Lol.

They eat almost anything U offer to them...

Their pregnancy is usually 3 months and 3 weeks, and they can give birth to up to 10...

Make sure U keep enough money to feed them, also do small swimming pool for them... They don't like heat.

..but they say pigs survive in a dirty muddy place or environment..they like dirtiness

If you do it large scale what about the market? I currently have 25 and I am worried about the demand if they get too many. I have the option of improving it if there's good demand.

Pig is the number one meat in Benue state, no restaurant cooks food without pork, and the smallest piece goes for 500 Naira....

Agric ones is around 2 million Naira..

Start by buying piglets to fatten
Then buy ready to cross gilts full ped
Then breed and fatten the piglets
Then start cutting middle men off to max profits
But you go buy feeds o

It is very lucrative if you follow these rules

1. Be readily available all the time to check on your pigs
2. Do not employ attendants to take care of the pigs (they all end up starving the pigs, and also sell their feeds to buyers)
3. Your pigs need food daily, so if you are not there to feed them, then don't venture into it
4. Be sure to have enough capital to get their feeds on daily basis
5. Try and get a veterinarian to check on them from time to time
6. If you feed them well, they will produce healthy piglets
7. Never and don't trust any attendants you employ if you end up having one

Very lucrative. Fast growth, high birthrates (a single pig can have 13 piglets in one birth - pay attention to the chest of the female, the number of tits determines how many issues they can have at once). Mortality rate is very low too, but they eat like termites.
An advice, try and add some salt to their meal too. Makes them have low fats.

Don't let these people deceive you many are not into piggery business. They don't tell you the challenges you will face which is quite enormous and overwhelming. The feeding itself will gulp 70% of your capital. Unlike cattle, the demand for pigs is not large , and the supply its much. What about housing, you will spend a lot.

that's the business my sis is currently doing, I'm speaking from experience.... When I say they eat anything, I don't mean U should give them rubbish... They don't select food like other animals...

And as for the treatment, U can ask any vet, it's every 3 months, U deworm them and give them multivitamins...

Then separate the pregnant ones...
