I’m sharing this because it happened right in my line and it can happen to anybody.

There’s one guy close to my shop who recently added POS services to his business. It was going well, so he decided to expand and get more terminals.

Someone linked him to a supplier that sells POS machines in bulk.

From what he told me, everything looked normal. The guy sent videos of the machines, even showed them being configured. He spoke confidently about commissions and settlements like someone who knows the business well.

They didn’t rush him. That part even made it feel more legit.

They agreed on ten machines. About ₦2.4 million.
Before paying, he asked for proof. The supplier sent a video showing the machines already labeled with his business name.

That was what convinced him.
He transferred the money.
After that, story changed.
First, small delay. Then excuses. Then silence.
Number stopped going through.
Till today, no machines.

What shocked me was how clean everything looked from the beginning. Nothing felt fake.

Now he keeps saying the same thing. If he had just used something like Escrow where the money is held until you confirm delivery, this wouldn’t have ended like this.

These days, once you send money directly, you’re on your own.

Just putting this out there so others can be careful.

What is escrow,tell us more on how to engage it when sending a substantial of money to unknown person.
