What a big blow to Governor Hope Uzodimma

But you applauded when Akpabio decriminalised certificate forgery and age falsification in the electoral act. Wasn't that unconstitutional? So you think laws can only be bent to accommodate Tinubu's own interests? Tinubu wants to use and dump Akpabio in favour of Hope Uzodinma and you expect him to sit idly by like a sitting duck.

Internal rules must not conflict with constitutional provisions. Once there is an inconsistency, the internal rule must be strike down to the degree of that inconsistency.

If a New or ranking Senator who was not a member of the 10th Senate decide to contest for Senate, it is left for all the elected Senators to decide. If majority of Senators opted to vote for such a person, so be it.

Akpabio was not a member of the 9th Senate. Yet, he was elected president of the 10th Senate. So, manipulate the rules to stop others from enjoying the same rights you once enjoyed?

Sir you are totally wrong. Why should i not vie for the post? Mind you, this is an elective post not an appointed post. The rule can only apply if the post is an appointed one. Who owns the Senate? Nigeria or Nigerians? Your guess is as bad as mine.

Part of what you said is undeniable correct. No doubt experience matters.

What we are saying is that it doesn't need to be codified into rules. It can be left as a practice/norms Just as we have an unwritten agreement between the North and South to rotate Presidency every 8years.

Absolutely nobody can stop anyone from defaulting on the rule if anyone wishes to go against it. This senate rule is null and void as it is inconsistent with the constitution and the rights of every elected parliamentarian.

Can we still call this democracy?

This is never about the administration. It is about greedy incumbent Senators trying to scheme their way to Senate leadership of the yet to be elected 11th Assembly. We should berate all the Senators that supported the amendment and not any administration. Let’s learn to always apportion blame correctly.

Uzodimma is the heaviest loser. Will he contest it in Court ? Tinubu prefers Akpabio over Uzodimma so he will have a final say though

Our senate is turning out to become a den of robbers. What is the meaning of this? Aren't all senators meant to be equal? Why the restriction? Sometimes I just wonder if these people are actually representing our interests or their own. Anyways I am not surprised by the actions of people who legalized fraudulent certificates.

But if these same rules were applied, Akpabio wouldn't have been senate president

His political path is just similar to that of Hope Uzodinma who he's setting the rule against (according to some quarters)
