We cannot feed our families.” These are not political attacks — they are the raw cries of survival. Even those who once danced in joy when Tinubu was declared winner now hang their heads in silence.


Many of us watched with hope as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rose to power. As a Yoruba man, we believed he would be a father to his people. But today, many feel abandoned. Inflation has soared, fuel subsidy removal was rushed without proper cushioning, and basic amenities have become luxuries.

He promised economic transformation, but today, the common man is hungrier than ever.


It is troubling to observe that in key national appointments, the South-West appears to be overlooked or used for tokenism. The Yoruba — a people of great intellect, innovation, and integrity — are becoming bystanders in a government many of them fought to build.

What shall we tell our children? That despite our contributions
