‘I Nearly Died In That Fight’ – Carter Efe Protests Unpaid N50m Prize by Kingzjayzee(op): 3:40pm On May 06
Controversy has erupted following claims by Carter Efe that he has yet to receive the N50 million prize promised after his victory over Portable in a celebrity boxing match recently held.

Efe secured victory over controversial singer Habib Okikiola, also known as Portable, in the bout held last Friday, clinching the top prize after a closely contested fight between the two entertainers.

Days after the high-profile encounter, however, the comedian said the promised N50 million reward has yet to be paid, further fuelling controversy surrounding the event.

The development comes amid earlier remarks from Portable, who had questioned the outcome of the fight, alleging that the judges’ decision in favour of Carter Efe may have been influenced by the organisers.

Notably, immediately after the “Chaos in the Ring” bout, ace businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, publicly pledged to redeem the N50 million prize promised to the winner.

E-Money never fails when he promises. I’m ready to redeem that N50 million pledge. Congratulations to Carter Efe, the winner. It’s been a wonderful night of entertainment,” he said at the time.

Despite that assurance, there has been no official clarification regarding the delay, while neither the organisers nor Emeka Okonkwo has explained why the payment is yet to be made.

In a new video shared on social media, Carter Efe expressed frustration over the situation, accusing the organisers of failing to honour their financial commitment.

He said the experience of the bout was physically demanding and insisted that the promised reward should be released.

Dem never give me my money oo. I never see N50 million ooo. I nearly die for that fight, I never see the N50 million. Make dem pay me the N50 oo,” he lamented.

Attempts to get reactions from the organisers and E-Money were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.

Noooo o! He has to be paid immediately! Even though I haven't got the time to carefully watch and analyse that fight like I did for portable vs akpi. The highlight indicated that it was no joke at all.

In this day and age, everybody is wise enough to sign contracts to ensure payment.

1. I believe he is making noise.
2. It is too early for the money to come. Payments like this take about two weeks to be secured.

He should be patient. Instead of coming to social media to lament. He could have just ask his manager to reach out to E money or the organizers privately and as why he is yet to be paid.

Releasing 50 million Naira isn't a small fry.

Efe Carter is a poor man, so don’t blame him a bunch.

His payment details has been forwarded to The Federal Inland Revenue Service & The Lagos State Inland Revenue office for vetting.

He will hear from them sooner than later.
