If he's denying the reality on ground, Nigerian government should also stylishly ambush their interest here, this will balance the equation. 50-50,no cheating.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile says South Africa remains open to African investment and is not anti-foreigner, but will not tolerate illegal migration.

He was speaking to SABC News on the sidelines of the World African Heritage Day celebrations in Midrand (Johannesburg), hosted by the African World Heritage Fund, the Development Bank of Southern Africa, and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.

Mashatile insists there is no xenophobia in South Africa, only opposition to illegal migration. He cautioned against lawlessness, urging citizens not to take matters into their own hands.

"Well, South Africa is not anti-foreigners. What we have been doing for years, is against illegal people coming into our country, whether they are from Africa or anywhere in the world. It's something we will not allow, but we will not be chasing Africans for the sake of it. What we are saying is that let people come to our country. Yes, we want investments. We want to work with them to develop our own country, but it must be done legally."
Is he insinuating that West Africans in South Africa entered the country illegally or that they thought the people they gave visas to were going to other countries?
When you end up having issues with citizens from more than five African countries, it means there is something wrong with you.
Tanzanians, Kenyans, and Ghanaians are thriving in the country yet somehow only their citizens are struggling.

But there is genocide in Gaza right? and Israel is a bad country right? All this evil countries and their hypocrisy. SA is worst than Israel and Iran. Imagine if SA have half of the kind of power Iran or Israel has, she will kill every non indigene in SA. The reason they are not attacking whites is because they know the whites are more powerful than them. Offcourse the South Africa apartheid of the white is still fresh in Their empty skull. SA is a terrorists organization and that’s what happens when you associate yourself with jihardists.

South African government are complicit and biggest hypocrites along with the south africans here on this Nigerian site.

I bet u if Nigerians were on a south african owned site they would be asking the owner to kick us out too. But they claim they are not xenophobic?

They call Israel and US names but look at their incredibly hypocritical violence supporting government.

where are the xenophobic videos online and all over twitter from? Attacking innocent BLACK ONLY foreigners.

hopeless insecure dimwitts. undecided

Re: There Is No Xenophobia In South Africa - Deputy President, Paul Mashatile by obaidan: 3:21pm On May 06
South Africa is not our problem. The problem is the class that is wasting ur resources and forcing u to run to places like south Africa in search of prosperity.
Nigeria chased Ghanaians out of Nigeria years ago.
Hold your leaders andpoliticians accountable and lets stop attempting to force people to accomodate us.
We are not wanted there, we should not be there.
Have some self-respect my fellow country men, Go where you are wanted, otherwise stay at home

No. Your leaders are big shareholders in those companies, your lawmakers are carrying out oversight and receiving bulky envelopes from those organizations.
Hold your leaders accountable, u have no business attacking mtn and dstv.
Your leaders will do the right things and fellow Nigerians will not have to run to places where they are not wanted and appreciated to search for prosperity

Nlfpmod, see how these South Africans manipulate, mock, and gloat, using nairaland to provoke Nigerians?
You see why we need to stop pushing their topics to the front page?
These people would never do the same on their platform. Never! They hate Nigeria that much.
We need to put a stop to the disrespect, at least from our own end.
Let us stop encouraging them.

If there's even a way to block these South Africans from infiltrating nairaland, let's do that.
They're not good people. Even as few as they are here. How much more when they're more of them.

Tell 'em,Paul cheesy We are not a testing ground for Pan African ideological wet dream.Deep down everybody knows pan Africa has failed and no amount of speeches can make it a reality.

Now the way I see it - whenever an idea or system fails to live up to the expectations people always look for a fall guy to put all the blame on instead of collectively taking accountability, and in this case everyone is pointing a finger down South😂😂😂 .The funny thing here is that long before South Africa even got liberated there had been a number of bloody civil wars in a number of African countries, something that never happened in South Africa.Even to this day most African countries are still grappling tribalism and civil unrest...so I ask - who actually betrayed the idea of Pan Africa?

Go invest in South Africa at your risk. The whites have already marked them after Donald Trump called them out. And the foolish people are after their fellow blacks.

By the time the whites start dealing with them which I foresee happening in the future, I want to see if they will run to the Nigerian leaders again to save them like we did for them in the past. Nigeria really tried for South Africa. As in we gave them the support they didnt imagine.

Nigeria issued over 300 Nigerian passports to South Africans during apartheid era for them to get out and inform the world what was happening. The same Nigerians are the ones they are chasing away and killing. grin

Black South Africans don belle-fu. That "bla-la" the white used on them will be relaunched in another dimension using another formular very soon. So, me...I dont even pity them. Make we dey watch na.
