victoryenergy:Again you are wrong! You are not even close to outraged as I have been since the first xenophobic nonsense from those neanderthals. And what makes you think I haven't suffered in one or the other from them? However, the reality is what you all are missing. Let me try and outline them: 1. MTN is not owned nor managed by the set of people carrying out these repeated attacks. Matter of fact, those people do not even benefit from MTN Nigeria as much as NIGERIANS! 2. If you like bury MTN, DSTV and every other South African linked organization today, it won't stop the growing hostility and actions of BLACK (keyword) South Africans towards every black immigrant from other African nations. Shoprite left our shores when? What did their departure do about the situation there or our own situation here?! 3. The people who own these top corporations you are channeling your anger towards have absolutely no relationship nor influence over the dirty street thugs killing their fellow Africans of the same color. If you don't understand something this basic and obvious, then I wonder what I am doing with you. 4. The only way to get at the heart of xenophobia is for the whole of Africa to sanction South Africa as a nation... Then influence the United nations to come down hard on them with even stiffer sanctions. This happened during apartheid days. Sadly, your leaders in Africa are more interested in looting and winning elections than saving Africa from this mess. When Libya did those despicable things to black Africans, what did they do? What have they done till today, cos the slave thingy is still happening till date. So, your outrage towards MTN as understandable as it is, remains unrealistic, puny, misdirected, and borders on unreasonable. Does that mean I love MtN and others? Nah...! I quit dstv along with my friends since the first major reported xenophobia... And we haven't returned since then. I removed myself from Stanbic as well. The only reason we couldn't do the same for MTN is because no other network provider delivers... Yes, we tried others! This is what I am saying...! The only way to boycott foreign industries is to collectively UNITE (another keyword) and turn our backs on them. Unfortunately, when have Nigerians ever united on anything?!! When?!! Smh!!! |

The best way to fight South Africa and make them come rushing after us, is to savage our economy and develop human capital. How many South Africans are in Nigeria today? But in sharp contrast we have many Nigerians in South Africa because the harsh and rash realities of economy have chased them into intolerant and unpleasant nations |

adenigga:Do we even ha a president?? Nigeria is no longer what dying for. Nigeria is not even what representing. This era of politicians, both young and old have failed the country. They don't care about anything else, except being in power and looting There is nothing like national integrity, no element of patriotism. It's a shame. And to southern Nigerians, you are on your own, the north feels it it is our problem, forget the movie at the senate. |

jmoore:mtn repatriates billions from Nigeria to South Africa monthly. When the NCC fined MTN billions for non-compliance of NIN, why did the South African government send representation for a dialogue, rookie? |

| Re: Nigerian Students Move To Picket South African Businesses Over Xenophobia by lezz(m): 9:29am On May 07 |
Angelfrost:MTN, DStv are South African own companies that make billions from Nigeria and repatriated to South Africa on a monthly basis. When these companies are targeted, the government and its owners put pressure on the criminals in South Africa and prosecute them. Sometimes countries even go as far as nationalising an offending country's assets on its land. Your argument is too liberal and weak |

lezz:Expert! Is it MTN that is killing Nigerians in SouthAfrica? |
| Re: Nigerian Students Move To Picket South African Businesses Over Xenophobia by MomohMrMoore: 10:25am On May 07 |
NANS now full with underages calling themselves undergraduates. How does the problem in SA affect Nigerian students in Nigeria. Issues that affect them like the recurrent strikes, university funding, lack of power in the hostels, astronomical school fees, fuel prices, inflation, the general poverty in the country, etc they are blind to those ones. So what happens to tens of thousands of Nigerian workers in these businesses. What happens to hundreds of thousands of these workers dependants that are Nigerians? MTN Nigeria and MTN DSTV are for Nigerians not SA. |

You're right tell me what happened to NITEL,Starcoms, O'net, multilinks among others. Don't forget that their chairman is Nigerian, MD is Nigerian, 90% of their staff are. I don't support xenophobia going on, it is a lesson to our dealers called leaders to make our nation more conducive for us. ReturnMan: |
| Re: Nigerian Students Move To Picket South African Businesses Over Xenophobia by Outtamymynd: 12:52pm On May 07 |
Angelfrost:so they should kill Nigerians because mtn employs us. why can't you cowards just shut the fvck up on this Internet. |
| Re: Nigerian Students Move To Picket South African Businesses Over Xenophobia by Angelfrost(m): 2:04pm On May 07 |
Outtamymynd:What do you even know about courage? Your response is just emotional and childish... No substance. MTN is a respectable business conglomerate doing business all over Africa, and has contributed in no small way to the advancement of sectors in nations like Nigeria... This is just a simple fact. Boyotting their services remains a choice that can be done individually or collectively (won't ever happen, as we are not united), but ranting here thinking Tinubu will shutdown one of Nigeria's biggest revenue generators because of what lazy and useless South Africans are doing in their nation won't help your mental health... Do something more meaningful. Calling me names won't also help you...! Elections are approaching... Let me see how UNITED you all will be in bringing forth the best brains to lead... Let me see "courageous" you will be in rejecting rigged results by boycotting or protesting as one, as done by other nations. Talk is so cheap...Smh!!! |

| Re: Nigerian Students Move To Picket South African Businesses Over Xenophobia by Outtamymynd: 3:25pm On May 09 |
Angelfrost:Dude, I bet you are one of those living comfortably and feeling they can never be affected by anything that threaten Nigerians. you think you know me, well, I'm greatly affected by anything that threatens one of my own. And I can't call anyone a fool for threatening to respond if South africans do not stop harassing and harming helpless Nigerians. I'm glad Nigerians are not hurting innocent south Africans in return, but we have to stand up for our brothers by doing something, anything at all. if these cooperations start losing money, The South African government might be forced to actually do something to protect the lives and properties of innocent Africans living in their country. Our government may not be perfect but that doesn't mean we can't stand our ground against bullies. if african countries should collectively send troops to fight black South africans, they won't last a day. |
