We are not generating enough... 200 million plus people and industries can not rely on 4000MW of electricity, it's too small. If they add 20,000MW they will have to increase the transmission capacity for sure TechCapon: |

Ride on Alhaji, They will start shouting affordability and whatever nonsense comes to their head, small thing we are earning peanuts, but we want dollar quality life. We are a nation that lived a fools paradise for too long. Living on subsidies without building anything tangible for the entire duration of it. Years wasted!! As long as the power is made available, and is metered and is constant, na you know wetin u go on, wetin you go off, wetin you no go plug lai lai. That's all that matters . Somebody wants to cook beans with hot plate because he see light? In the abroad you people shout about, everyone is energy saving, it's so advanced you can see your daily consumption on an app. Let's leave that one sef. As long as you can see your meter reading at any time T, the onus is on YOU to watch what and how you consume. Some of you na 100 watt bulb dey una room, are you a young fowl? TV is on 24/7 , fan , AC, giant freezers, hot plate, bathroom heater, microwave and libitum. Energy economics is a must. Live with it. Welder wants to complain, local grinding mill too, when they're busy operating 3 phase 25 horsepower motors, haba! Islie: |

TechCapon:So what's funny about that? All electricity generation are done by generators of different types. He produces his own electricity in the same way generation companies in Nigeria does for the nation. |

OredoPikin:We said past this ship a very long time ago with deregulation. If privatization was done properly, we should have started seeing much more improvement now. Then the electricity act of 2023 which further opened up the sector to investors. It's that simple. Government has handled power for decades from NEPA days. Now,it's been opened to investors and privatization, and interested state governments. Tell your state government to provide this simple things. Abi? BTW, what resources are you referring to? i guess the resources are in your account balance? |

Fiscus105:It is only in Nigeria that citizens are afraid to confront a problem especially if government is the cause, they prefer to shift blames and use religion phrases to give themselves hope. About two months ago, the Nigerien government placed a 50% subsidy cement while Nigerians while on a blame shifting conference. |

Idaytesj29:Nigeria's electricity problem is caused by the federal government through TCN with a 5,000MW transmission capacity and not the generation with 14,000MW. |

Well, I don't know how current or informed you are, it may be a sector where you worked. I believe transmission of electricity should not be that hard. National Grid should be decentralized, the 6 geopolitical zones should have their grid. Let's decentralize this and allow for the unbundling of this chaotic approach Gboss247: |
