I don’t like when wrong information is given attention and most of the times, yes. No amount of diet can prevent prostate enlargement, it’s common to black men, over 80% of blacks men will have it in their lifetime, what they should be talking about is how to survive it, don’t get me wrong, good diet is good for you. First, regular blood work is needed at age 40 and older to monitor it, your blood work should tell your PSA level. In Nigeria, most doctors will recommend surgery, please don’t, your regular medication will control it and if it blocks your urine, an insertion is needed to drain your bladder through your penis. Worst case is laser surgery to reduce the enlargement size through your penis, please do not let anyone cut your body as surgery to remove prostate , in Naija you will not make it. I have not seen anyone who did prostate surgery in Naija who survived after few months. |

Nothing defeats frequent sexual intercourse. That's the major solution. See here by Harvard: https://www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/ejaculation_frequency_and_prostate_cancer |

adecares:Harvard says frequent sex reduces the chances. Who should people believe, a random adecares or Harvard University? https://www.health.harvard.edu/mens-health/ejaculation_frequency_and_prostate_cancer Dem go deny their partners sex, yet proffer ill solutions to the issue on ground🙄 |

I will like to say this and please quote me anywhere. Any diet plan that doesn't involve daily intake of cocoa in any form is a waste of time as far as prostate is concerned. One full spoon of cocoa powder and a cap full of apple cider vinegar to a warm glass of water after lunch or dinner 3times weekly Consume raw oats with cocoa powder, unsweetened yoghurt, honey(optional) and banana/pineapple/pawpaw Slice of bread, Omelette medium rare(3eggs) yoke should be rubbery. Fried with very low heat. Sprinkled with black pepper and Himalayan or sea salt and a glass of warm cocoa and coconut milk pharmacist: |

pharmacist:That's an impressive thread post for us men especially over 40 years of age. I like the specifics in the attached Nigerian diet plan. The meals are of Low Glycemic Index which are the ideal meals for pre-diabetics and diabetics... Including everyone. Regularly engaging in exercises, taking PSA tests, and "saw palmetto" extract used for several centuries to support prostate health with evidence showing saw palmetto to be effective in reducing the symptoms of BPH. |

adecares:That's also a factor dear even though it sounds kinda odd. But I think some men don't have enough information hence the need for OP to remind them. These men are our brothers, uncles and fathers so let's promote good health for all. My Dad is ex military and in his early 80s now without any major medical issues. Every morning, He eats sliced fresh tomatoes (2 at least), sliced onion, one fresh pepper 🌶️, sometimes ginger is added and carrots as breakfast. He then gulps it down with a good amount of water. The army doctors from Lebanon taught them that when they were in peacekeeping mission there for two years in 1979 -81 I sent you a mail, you are beautiful |

Morizo:I appreciate your sharing this breakfast tip. My father is also an octogenarian like your father. The Military diet tip got by your father from his participation in the famous 1979-1981 Lebanon peacekeeping mission (which the Nigeria Military personnel performed creditably well) is highly impressive. My quick question for you is: Does your father eat the carrots, tomatoes, onions, pepper, ginger, as diced or slices alone OR can the mixtures be BLENDED into a smoothie in a "Nutribullet?" I have a Nutribullet which I use for making smoothies. In addition, I read a research a few years back indicating that juiced carrots (and other juiced vegetables) are BETTER absorbed into the body and effectively utilized than eating them raw for CLEARER vision based off of tests carried out using juiced carrots on young American recruits into the United States Air Force who where initially rejected due to bad eyesights. With regular intakes of juiced carrots daily, in a matter of weeks, their visions improved remarkable and they got recruited into the U.S. Military. |

Bluntemperor:You are correct but if you check the post, it contains things like tomato. Also, it is cheaper to stay healthy than to end up with benign prostate enlargement. Prevention is cheaper, and better than cure. |
| Re: Nigerian Diet Plan For A Healthy Prostate by pharmacist(op): 4:38pm On May 09 |
Fuckyoumod:Honestly, which one is cheaper, preventing it from happening or spending money on drugs when the damage is done. |

AlphaTaikun:You are absolutely right about the juiced carrots. I stayed a bit in Jos and I never missed carrots daily as juices or just eating raw because he helps improve eyesight. My dad didn't juiced his but slice the tomatoes, carrots, ginger, onion and fresh peppers in a plate. He sometimes sprinkles a pinch of salt for taste . You are absolutely right about carrots tremendously improving eyesight. My Dad doesn't use medicated glasses till date and still reads the scriptures in the church. I have been eating that combo for a few years now and I can tell you it's been good and helps builds the body systems. Please the tomatoes should be tomato 🍅 Jos and very ripe. He picky about it and select good big onions too. |

Morizo:@Morizo I appreciate your very detailed feedback here. Indeed, Jos is a fantastic place for horticultural products. I actually first travelled to Jos back in the early 1980s to take the computerised exams into Hillcrest an American mission school located in Jos. I have more CLARITY on what to do now based off of your post and I'll tell my folks to get very ripe tomato Jos and carrots exclusively in Lagos (especially for my father's shortsight) and more. I too will have to follow the same breakfast meal plan sequence because of the loaded super foods and anti-oxidants the recommended veggies contain. It's a major blessing I came across your insightful post on this same NL thread. I wish you a great weekend ahead! |
