Bournemouth has dropped Alex Jimenez from the squad as the club investigates his alleged inappropriate chats with a minor on social media. Posts circulated on Friday claiming that the 21-year-old Spanish right-back directed sexual advances to an individual who appears to state that they are a 15-year-old girl. The reports included screenshots of the alleged chats and videos. In a statement, Bournemouth acknowledged the "seriousness of the matter" and confirmed Jimenez will not be included in the weekend's Premier League game against Fulham. Jimenez turned 21 on Friday.

I'm a bit torn on this news when I saw it on my Google TL yesterday. On paper, he's an adult being inappropriate with a kid which is punishable by law. In reality, he's a kid himself who literally turned 21 yesterday (8th May) meaning a little over a year ago, he was still a teenager. I hope the law won't be too harsh on him .

For me, non teenagers have no business interacting with teenagers in an inappropriate way.

At age 21, my dad already had two kids. This footballer type has no excuse and his damaging effect on the girl, I know it was a setup, would be no better (or worse) than a 30 or 40 year old.

How I it a covert operation if he was not a pdfile. The girl mentioned her age which ideally should have turned him off.

No crime committed he will be cleared….The victim does not exist in law from this conversation, since you have to be 18+ to open an account. But if eventually he is cleared it’s absurd for him to have pushed on after she tell him she was 15.😁
