Jesus warned us that as it was in the days of Lot, so shall the day of His return be. Luke 17:28-30

He also warned us to "remember Lot's wife", so as not to suffer a similar fate on that day. Luke 17:31-32

Lot's wife had the grace of God available to her to use to her benefit and save herself from the destruction imminent upon the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, same as her husband and children.

However she chose to abuse it by disobeying God's Word and "look back".

That was how she instantly turned into a pillar of salt, hence made the grace of God to be of no effect in her life and not save her from destruction.

Therefore anyone who still thinks they could partake of God grace and be saved from the destruction imminent upon the world, despite continuing to live in sin and disobedience to God's Word, should "remember Lot's wife", because that's a dangerous way to use the grace of God.

Contrary what many Christians think, God's grace didn't just become available with the coming of Jesus, but has been available ever since the fall of man into sin in the beginning.

Hence why it was said that Noah found grace in the sight of God, long before the coming of Jesus. Genesis 6:8

Therefore the grace of God was available to all men on the face of the earth, but only Noah was able to find it or use it to his benefit in his day, because only those who walked righteously before God and in obedience to His Word can partake of God's grace.

Never the disobedient, ungodly, wicked, workers of iniquity, or sinners who refuse to repent of their sins.

That's because, despite that no descendant of Adam deserve the grace of God or any good thing from Him, because of the condemnation of Adam's sin they inherited by being his descendants, the grace of God is meant for only those who chose not to continue in the sinful or disobedient way of Adam.

Hence why Noah who was said to be a just man and perfect in his generations, was able to find and partake of God's grace, but not the sinful, wicked and corrupted souls of his generation who refused to repent. Genesis 6:9.

It was for this same reason Abel was also able to find grace in God's sight prior to that, but not Cain, regarding their offerings unto God.

God asked Cain, "if thou has done right, shall thou not be accepted", to show the reason He rejected Cain or why Cain hadn't found grace in His sight, was because Cain had not done what was right in His sight, and Cain later proved God right by the evil he later did to his brother shortly afterwards. Genesis 4:7.

Moreover Jesus much later, called Abel "righteous" in His teaching, to confirm why Abel was accepted or found grace in God's sight but not Cain. Matthew 23:35

There is also the instance of the wicked people of Nineveh who were marked for destruction because of their wickedness, but found grace in the sight of God because they repented and turned away from their sins and wicked ways. Jonah 3.

Then there was the wicked people of Sodom and Gomorrah in the days of Lot, who instead of repenting of their sins, wanted to attack the angels that were sent by God to confirm the gravity of their wickedness, hence why their destruction was sealed by God.

However Lot found grace in the sight of God because he wasn't like them, but walked righteously before God and in obedience to His Word, hence why he wasn't destroyed along with them.

So the Grace of God had always been available to save the righteous, obedient, and sinners who repent and turn away from their sinful ways, from destruction even prior to the coming of Jesus.

What the coming of Jesus did was elevate or upgrade the Grace of God to the level of eternal life and salvation of human souls from hell fire, via paying the hefty price required (dying for the sins of mankind), to reopen the gates of eternal life or heaven shut to mankind because of Adam's inherited sin, so that the righteous, obedient, and sinners who truly repent by turning away from their sins and wicked ways, can now be able to enter in and also have access to the tree of life.

However it didn't change the fact that the wicked, workers of iniquity, and sinners who refuse to repent but continue to live a life of sin, shall never be able to partake of God's grace unless they truly repent.

Crops weren't yielding well as a result. People resulted to all manner of manipulative ways to survive.
