Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op):
It's been a year since i Iast updated....

When I started out, I was having the mindset of doing storage then selling during the scarcity season (usually from august-december) for massive profit...

It did paid off though as I was able to make a return of 6,500naira on each keg/gallon of oil sold...

Remember: I bought the oil when the price was already high...had it been that I bought it during the months of February to April i could made massive profit cuz it was sold then at the rate of 30,000-35,000naira but I bought mine at 40,000-45,000 naira...

The pics below was the oil from last year...

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op):
So this year I decided to go fully into the business...
When I started out, I was doing sourcing from one village to another looking for a good bargain then reselling it to the northerners who then waybill it to the north.... I did this week in week out but I started getting frustrated along the line...
Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 3:05pm On Apr 17
The reason for my frustration was as follows:

Getting the oil was a bit challenging in that i wouldn't get the quantity or the quality (freshly milled)...

Logistics was a huge factor for me...I would spend not less than 5,000 to transport myself to the rural areas where i believed to get the best oil. But on getting there I would be blessed with few kegs/gallons of oil , not even enough to transport it to the northerners as they do buy in bulk...

My biggest frustration came from the northerners... before I bring my oil to them I will put out call first to them to know the current price from them. But upon arrival I would be told or should I say met a different price way below of what we bargained earlier on phone...at the end of the day I would be left with few naira as gain not even enough to hold me for a week...

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op):
I was almost out of business, looking frustrated but the question that keeps ringing in my head was: how are others making it?

It did down on me that all along I was selling my goods to the 'wrong' targets... in other words the kind of oil (freshly milled) that I do sale to the northerners way too cheap was what the market women were buying at a higher price...

The northerners where too 'invested' in buying second grade oil also known as fiber which cost way below the freshly ones I do sale to them...

It sure down on me!!! angry

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op):
Upon realising that I was selling my freshly milled oil to the "wrong" targets, I had to start searching for the right targets....

Market women, small stores and restaurants where my target as of then...

I remember walking up to a woman who do display her oil in the market, telling her am into palm oil distribution if she's interested i can be supplying her weekly... dis woman look me up n down tell me say I no resemble who for sell palm oil cheesy
Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 5:23pm On Apr 18
Me ma self cum look myself up n down cum dey reason how I no look like who no for sale palm oil....

Long story short sha, she ended up not giving me assurance of buying... my moral was way too low to go after other sellers advertising my palm oil to them... i had no choice but to continue supplying the northerners....making little profits off it...8

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 5:32pm On Apr 18
The breakthrough came when I started posting on Facebook....

My first customer online was one of a kind... she vetted me like a trained CIA... but I maintained my composure not letting my encounter with the previous market woman hinder my blessings...

I was 100percent sure she would like my product even without her seeing it... For a start she requested for 5 kegs/gallons of oil... we agreed on price and logistics to Lagos...

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 5:37pm On Apr 18
I wasted no time to go inside the village and source for my favourite freshly milled native palm oil for her.....even when the price was not that friendly as I was eager to make my first sale online.....

I loaded up to 25 kegs/gallons of oil heading to the waybill spot.....but

🔥 PALM OIL UPDATE – ₦36,000 (25L) 🔥
As a palm oil miller, current market price for quality red oil stands around ₦36,000 per 25-litre keg due to low harvest yield, rising milling costs, and transport expenses.
🌴 This price reflects freshly milled, pure red oil with strong aroma, rich colour, and no dilution — straight from production.
📌 I don’t just sell, I produce — and quality always sets the price. 🌴

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 7:18pm On Apr 20
I loaded up to 25 kegs/gallons of oil heading to the waybill spot.....but

...but upon seeing her oil through series of video calls, and the confirmation of the waybill guys who whr to transport the oil to her location that the oil was indeed premium, she ordered for 13 kegs/gallons instantly....

I was overjoyed within me even when the price was not that friendly by me but atleast it was way better than the northern guys...

She indeed promised to send in more buyers down my way who do patronise me in bulk...sure as it sounds, the bulk buyers did come my way.... bulk buying also came with its own challenges which I would be typing on how I overcame it... smiley

🔥 UPDATED PALM OIL PRICE ALERT 🔥

Smart buyers are already taking advantage of the current market 👇

As of now, premium quality palm oil is selling from ₦35,000 per keg 💰

Yes, you heard that right — ₦35K range for clean, well-processed, rich red palm oil 🌴

But here’s what most people are missing…

📈 Palm oil is NOT stable — it fluctuates fast
📦 What is ₦35,000 today can jump to ₦40,000+ in a short time
⏳ Those who delay always end up buying at higher prices

Understanding the differnt types of palm oil in the market...

A lot of people ask:
“Why is one palm oil cheaper and another expensive?” 🤔
Let me break it down simply...

We have the "uncooked" RAW OIL...this is the first stage after extraction..at this stage the oil being extracted though it may look pure contains enough water, impurities and have a shorter shelf life...I.e not meant for long term storage...

Here's the picture below

Understanding the differnt types of palm oil in the market...

We have the COOKED OIL (well processed oil)
This is the standard, market-ready palm oil...

This stage is the final stage of production... after the oil is being extracted (first stage), it would now be cooked or heated and filtered to extract moisture and filter out impurities for a longer shelf live, rich colour and better aroma(that nutty aroma-like)

This is th3 standard that can be stored for a year plus without de-caking or getting all blocked

unfortunately I would be needing video for this...pics alone can't do it

Understanding the differnt types of palm oil in the market...

FIBER OIL...
This comes after reprocessing the leftover fiber..

Extracted from already used palm fruit fiber
Lower oil quality
Duller color, sometimes thicker
Mostly used for industrial or low-cost purposes

This one here isn’t edible at all...mainly for industrial purposes... it's more of water, impurities and less of oil....

Video would do here...

Currently Palm oil is:

38,000 (storage standard)
36,000 (non storage)
33,000 (fiber for industrial use)

Bulk purchase attracts discounts though

Buy....Store....Sell
This strategy have been used for ages when it comes to palm oil business...

You might not be chanced to be hustling palm oil alongside your usual business/office on daily bases ao comes the storage aspect of palm oil where you only buy when price are down, store for some period of time and sell it off when scarcity hits...

I can put you through if you so wish ...

Been like ages since I last updated you though..Lol

Bulk buying did come with its own challenges no doubt but I was able to deliver in ways I couldn't believe possible... at that stage of my business where I would be justling from one village to another sourcing for palm oil to deliver, getting 155 kegs/gallons of oil was indeed a huge challenge.

In 2 weeks time i was able to gather just 50 kegs (largely due to the fact that I was on selection mode for the best quality)...

It did hit me in that if I continue justling for oil the way am currently doing i wouldn't meet up and my customers might be forced to look else way... under the hot scorching sun the son of man was trekking from one mill to the other just to meet up in time...

It wasn't easy though I must confess cuz at the same time u would have to guide ur money from pick pockets especially being a stranger in the land... POS was never used though as physical cash was the order of the day...

Re: Updated Price Of Palm Oil In Nigeria by LotannaWallace(op): 8:06am On Jun 09
Getting just 50 kegs/gallons of oil out of 155 kegs/gallons requested was challenging so I had to take the risk in going full scale....
