URGENT PETITION TO DECLARE THE SEAT OF HON. KINGSLEY OGUNDU CHINDA (OBIO/AKPOR FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY) VACANT PURSUANT TO SECTION 68(1)(g) OF THE 1999 CONSTITUTION (AS AMENDED)

1. INTRODUCTION We write to you as concerned constituents and stakeholders in the Nigerian democratic process to formally bring to your official attention a grave constitutional infraction committed by Hon. Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, representing the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency of Rivers State.

2. THE CONSTITUTIONAL INFRACTION Under Section 68(1)(g) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), a member of the House of Representatives shall vacate his seat if:
“...being a person whose election to the House of Representatives was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which that House was elected.”

There is fire 🔥 on the mountain. Many politicians are going to loose their seats and will thenceforth become politically irrelevant after the 2027 general elections. It could even affect the intelligent ones could be amongst the victims. The APC will crash-land many political careers.
