Lagos is daring to dream big. What you’re seeing here is the ongoing construction of Phase 2 of the Lagos Blue Line mass transit rail project. Following the successful launch and operation of Phase 1 running from Mile 2 to Marina for over two years work on the next phase is advancing rapidly.

Infrastructure is all it takes to make a nation blossom but our thieving govts have always opened borders for cheap foods from other nations while we produce nothing so that we can buy rice at #500 per bag ![]() (according to some people )while they pocket the money for infrastructures which are the opium of growth and development of a nation. |

Melezenawii:Great project. I believe this extension reaches the Epe Corridor . Yayi is destined to be next Ogun State Governor. He should work proactively with Lagos to extend the blue line to major hubs of Ogun State like Ijebu Ode, Abeokuta etc . Ogun can be a decongesting residential suburb for Lagos while gaining the socio-economic benefit of a working class population that will be working in Lagos yet living in Ogun State, because of reliable rail link to Lagos, and spending their earnings there. |

Lagos dey try shaa...but honestly with the wealth of this country Nigeria don suppose pass this stage but what can we say!..make we dey celebrate the little our leaders provide for us out of pity from the looting goin on....in my state Benue state, the current leadership has proven to me that Nigeria can develop beyond the reach of other countries if we have the right leadership. Despite the insecurity and high level of sabotage the governor is trying his best to put one or two on ground. In my village, my people has never experienced government presence before but as I speak the road which almost became unusable during raining season even by foot is almost in it's 70 percent completion stage..... Hallelujah..we give God praise and than gov Alia... |

sirray001:Continue to dey cry hunger, hiw will people get there daily bread if there isnt improvement on critical transport insfrastructure......insfrastructure brings development, development brings jobs and jobs bring food.....I don't know why thats so difficult for you guys to understand. |

WizardOfNG:The development coming to Epe has really improved businesses between Epe and ijebu ode. I think the green line contract has already been awarded from Lekki Epe axis to marina. The problem with Ogun state is infrastructure. The people currently living there are suffering from bad roads and you want more to join. Let them fix the roads then people will move towards those axis more naturally. |

| Re: Ongoing Construction Of Phase 2 of The Lagos Blue Line Rail Project by WizardOfNG: 11:37am On May 12 |
tollyboy5:Rail is a good addition to the transport infrastructure solution of Ogun State. Don't forget that. Everything does not have to begin and end with roads. Lagos needs decongesting to thrive optimally. That is a fact. Her optimal population shoukd be 10 to 15 million max. Ogun State can be a privileged and advantaged feeder State to Lagos as many suburbs of great cities like London, New York etal have become because of commuting ease.

sirray001:Yes hunger dey land for you wey believe say you hungry pass the other person because our govts didn't build infrastructures for Agriculture,Energy(light),Health,Education, Oil etc. If you don't understand what infrastructures mean in oil..sheybi you know refineries. One of the most important infrastructure is road because it connects every other infrastructure together with the masses. This is why nations of the world continually build roads as their population expands. Nigeria govts have always only budgeted to rehabilitate existing roads but end up embezzling the money. The mofos never thought of new roads and other infrastructures except how-to steal the money. |

That project has been on hold for as long as I remember. They’ve not even laid a single rail track after the Mile 2 station. |

Ever8090:This is why we must always respect key stakeholders. I.e Benue folks like yourself. Yet Nigerians are the most over-sabi people in the world with serious boundary issues. Dem sabi chook mouth in what they know nothing about and what should not concern them. |

Lagos, the city of big dreams and vision……always setting the pace for development and ambitious project even some Africa countries can’t dare to dream of yet some clowns who are good at creating online content will be comparing mediocrity with real impactful and ambitious projects this project is bigger than all the project undertaken by our noisy neighbours in the administration of this Govt and that’s fact……btw proudly Lagos ![]() |

Sheuns:In the haste to be negative always, you have tripped on your untied shoelaces. The Blue line terminates at Marina and you are claiming "not even laid a single rail track after the Mile 2 station". Na Mars or Togo you dey live to have written the bolded? Bruv, friendly advice. You harm yourself alone with the negativity you seem to be allowing to consume you. When you are always about negatives, never even once about celebrating positives, don't you understand that is the precursor of a sad and failed life?

That is what we have been saying. Rail lines are a way more effective and cost efficient transportation system from point to point and for long term, stable efficiency much faster than road and even air transport. That is why it is a wonder why the Federal government does not see it as an imperative to invest in a nationwide rail network linking all the city state capitals but insists on building more new roads. You cannot travel interstate and not be menaced by heavy duty and long haul trucking which cost more than just lives regularly but degrade the road infrastructure badly and consume horrendous amounts of fossil fuels. Nigeria needs better vision for better prospects if we hope to industrialize, develop and prosper. |
