How were we ruling ourselves pre colonial era?

Everything that ruined the continent was inherited from the same people saying we cannot rule ourselves.

They create and sponsor the divide and still accuse us of not being able to govern ourselves.

Impose leaders for their own benefit and expect calm. Gave us religions that is now a curse on the continent. Told us our morals are outdated and freedom was superior! Now we have so much freedom that stupidity and foolishness is now a norm.

From the mouth of a guy who was promoting tribalism, ethnicity and bigotry, and hatred, and so forth.

But the problem with Africa was the same problem that many European countries had, trying to build an equitable society based on sharing money. Naturally such a society cannot work properly unless there was a bottonless pit of money, because the money won't be enough.

Most African countries did that, and they have a lot in common with white countries like the East germans, the soviets, the rumanians and so forth.

When a society is built on sharing money, all the other problems come forth.

Back to the South Africans...arphateid did bring industrialization to South Africa, and a lot of development, but the problem was the white minoroty government was spending a lot of the government money on the whites, who got MOST Of the budget. Meanwhile, blacks were not getting much in the way of budgeting. Add things like Bantu education. The aim was to attract more whites into the country, and to keep them there....and keep the black man down. Blacks could see that whites had it better...and thus supported parties like the ANC and so forth.

Oh and did i tell you that the Legislature had no African representation, apart for a few seats for the colorued population?

A real society is built by allowing capitalism to flourish, not by sharing money and doing free education, free this , subsides, etc...after selling oil money.

THe problem is, building such a society means massive hardship and a wider gap between rich and poor before things get better. South Korea, Japan and China had the issue...infact the 1989 tianamen square protests were not just for democracy, but also against things like how china's indstrialization was widening gap between rich and poor. SOuth korea and Japan also had student unrest from the 1960-80's.

Most African socuietes don't like that...so they are all trying to be like East germany.

East germany had an equitable society...but the problem was, the money ran out in the early 1970's so borrowing commenced. Massive borrowing. If not, the country would have collapsed before 1979. Same thing with the USSR, and company. And all of them were run by white people. China was a broke ass country with a gdp below Sierra Leone in 1973, yet by adapting capitalism...they ended up being a prosperous country with a gdp now higher tha Sierra Leone today.

Most African countries do not want to industrialize, and export manufactured goods. We think we have enough money, all we got to do is fight corruption and we would be okay. IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT.

THe problem is not race, it is the method. If whites were better than blacks, the USSR and DDR would still be around gigidga today.

My single lament about our Nairaland is we are unable to organise ourselves to accomplish, it seems, and need to work better, I think.

NO President in the history of Nigeria has EVER done that level of CORRUPTION.
NONE!

Then there is the ISSUE of LOBBYING.
Which is basically TRANSPARENT CORRUPTION.

Corporations and Industries will take money and DONATE it to Politicians for the EXPRESS purpose of getting said politicians to MAKE LAWS that would FAVOUR the donors to the DETRIMENTS of ordinary citizens.

They do this with Mayors.
They do it with Governors.
They do it with Congress.
They do it with State Congress.

If DANGOTE pays money to get a President elected so that he can be awarded LUCRATIVE oil wells, EVERYBODY will scream CORRUPTION.

But in America, it's just GOOD BUSINESS.

And that's what Elon Musk and Oil Companies did with the PDFile.

Musk alone spent over $240M.

That is more than #320 BILLION!

#320 BILLION spent by a Private Individual to get his DESIRED candidate elected.

If it happened in Africa or Nigeria, MANY of you will RUPTURE from indignation.

We keep making excuses for the less than palatable situation of blacks www. Why won't we for once kick the excuses in the face, roll up our sleeves and get to work ruling ourselves well as you said we were doing before the white man and the religion you blame for our backwardness came our way!

Rwanda looks like a well governed clime. the Western Region under Awolowo was a well governed space. Many will find it hard to believe that the Western Region of Nigeria had television before France!
