As stakeholders battle for the soul of Rivers state, a community development expert, Ambassador Blessing Fubara Snr. has announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Fubara, who made the declaration after he was well received by the national leader of NDC , Senator Seriake Dickson and other stakeholders of the party in Abuja, said his decision to join the NDC, which he referred to as a moving train is in the interest of the people of Rivers state

He noted that the soul of Rivers state is at stake as the people get set to take back their state, stressing that Rivers will be OK after the 2027 polls

Amb. Blessing Fubara Snr. is a Bachelor of Science degree holder in Community Development and Adult Education and the MD/CEO of D’Consiglories LLC. He is a development strategist, urban renewal consultant, and grassroots mobilizer with experience in public sector advisory and youth empowerment initiatives.

Beyond political announcements and profile descriptions, Nigerians today are becoming more interested in measurable impact, visible projects, sustainable policies and practical solutions that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.

The country does not just need politicians changing parties; Nigeria needs leaders and development experts who can genuinely provide workable solutions in:

* education,
* employment,
* industrial growth,
* infrastructure,
* youth empowerment,
* technology,
* agriculture,
* and economic stability.

At this stage, the most important thing is not the political movement itself, but whether those involved truly have the vision, competence, structure and long-term commitment needed to solve real national problems.

The good thing is that discussions around development, urban renewal and grassroots empowerment are becoming more common in Nigerian politics. What citizens now expect is action, transparency and visible results beyond speeches and alignments.

Nigeria needs practical nation builders, not just political rebranding.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry will want to jump on the Peter Obi train in NDC.
They should start screening potential candidates/ aspirants.
