Oseni is too dumb! If the South Africans can play dirty, why can't we? We don't have South Africans we can repatriate but they have companies here. They make money from Nigeria. Nigerians go to South Africa and make money too. If they can kill Nigerians, we can kill their companies.

MTN and DSTV are businesses. They cannot be held responsible for what ordinary South Africans do. If you build a great business in Ghana, do you want it destroyed when some Nigerians over there attack and kill some Ghanaians?

This headline is misleading. There was no clash during the interview. Rufai Oseni asked a very dumb question and Oshiomole gave him a very sound and well-articulate answer. That's just it.

I was ashamed of him while watching. how can you say because Nigeria is looking for foreign investor and the life of Nigerians been killed in south africa don't matter. oshiomohle said after his statement about normalizing mtn, the south Africa president quickly responded by condemning the attack because he is a major shareholder of mtn. they make their highest profit in Nigeria because of the huge number of users. As a president, he has not taken any serious action to stop the xenophobic attack or to prosecute the attackers. But just recently when he heard the threat to nationalize MTN, he quickly released a statement to condemn the attack.

Yes I understand your point. I have always insisted politicians and diplomats on both sides (Nigeria and South Africa) must act decisively.

It is not acceptable our fellow Nigerians lost their lives to xenophobic attacks.

I can therefore understand emotions are running high but I don't believe making South African businesses in Nigeria the scapegoats of our anger solves anything.

Seems you did not watch the video. Oshiomole specifically stated that Nigerian interest in those businesses will be protected.

The bottom line is that those businesses you mentioned are mostly owned by their political class. These are the same people that have the political power but won't do the needful because they lack the political will. If their business is not threatened, they won't stop the attacks and get the attackers prosecuted.

I stand with Mr Oshiomole on this.
