Whats the big deal about seeing someone's status and them seeing yours? Whats all the fuss about?

If you don't want someone to see your status, block them or simply don't update your status. If you dont want to see someone'someone's status, block them or scroll past if you stumble on it.

What's the fuss about.... Nigerians b doing oversabi.... If you know someone that post long status that you don't have interest in just mute the person status or block.... It's not that complicated

Are you in the same group with the person? If yes, that explains it. If the user uses @all in the group and post the message to Whatsapp status, every group member will see it whether or not they saved the person's number.

It's because you've interacted with him and he has saved your number.

WhatsApp will soon start running ads hence they're pushing out this update.... Before the year runs out, you'll start seeing ads like you see on Facebook

Annoying part is you start seeing status of some people, then you start wondering if they see the things you post... Lol

If you can see theirs they will definitely see yours.... WhatsApp is about to start pushing ads and introduce premium services that's why you're seeing this update.

They have your phone number and they broadcast message to you. It's like someone having your phone number and sending you sms/text message. Whether you store their number or not, the sms must deliver. It's up to you to block the numbers you don't want to view.

One thing I do before deleting numbers is to first block such numbers. Some, I even tagged them as "scammers" before blocking and deleting. If it says do you want to keep files, click No. So you don't have any records stored or hidden anywhere.

It's not yesterday, I experienced it about a month ago, I was confused about what could be the cause, I had to check through my contact to see if I saved the number without a name.
The person called me on WhatsApp, so an hr after the call, I started seeing his status update without saving his contact.
I saw it for few days but I've not seen any again till now
Maybe then dey do test run then, so now time for full implementation

That is Mark Zuckerberg for you. All he cares about is throwing people in together. That's why I avoid Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. YouTube gives you breathing space since nobody wants to be your friend

Telegram has a similar feature where contacts which have your numbers saved appear to you when they join the platform. It was how I knew one of my exes was still hoping for my return. As soon as she spotted the notification, quick deletion from the app.
