definitely chapel hill is among the best, I just think they need to slim down their portfolio, I bet that zed has a slim portfolio and that allows them capture so much gains, I couldn’t forget seeing their holdings here couple days ago
I don't think it is really about portfolio, zed is still relatively new in d equity fund market. Paramount has been here & they have been consistent. I'm not even convinced zed maybe able to maintain this pace by next year. When I started zed this year, equity subscribers were less than 500, but currently it is heading to 4k. So they maybe putting all the effort to create a mark in the market since they are still relatively new. But if they are able to sustain this pace for like 2-3 years, then we can start making arguments for them. Obviously they are going to be the best equity fund performer for this year. Last year gt equity was hot, but see what they are doing this year.

The portfolio that was shared recently was CS's portfolio. For Zed, I don't think its public info not sure about Paramount but overtime people have been able to predict likey portfolio holding

Sigh...

I am trying to trim my Equity Mutual Fund Holdings to just 2. Currently, I have a managed Equity portfolio on Cowrywise (consists of different providers), Zedcrest and Paramount. Paramount is looking like the weakest link after eliminating Stanbic IBTC.

Just stick with Cowrywise, save yourself some stress.

The cowrywise she mentioned is still equity naaaa

She wants to trim it to just two fund managers

She wanted to defend Paramount and send it to Zedcrest

Correct...

All Equity funds.

Thinking Cowrywise and Zedcrest, although ChatGPT isn't very confident about Zedcrest because they are relatively new when it comes to Equity funds and selected Paramount over it....But the returns sweeettttttt, i no go lieeeee, lolll

I was in your shoe a while back and i wanted to leave cardinal stone, until it brought 7% returns in one day. Made over 2M that day. I’d say, stick with the winners.

Zedcrest
Paramount
Cardinal stone.

I love paramount coz it does not have alot of stocks in its basket. Only a handfull of solid picks across most sectors. It’s not zedcrest but i’m damn sure none other comes close, except maybe CS but definitely not cowrywise. Perhaps Zrosk also but they dont have an app and only give monthly updates.

In my experience, there are quite a handful of days when paramout outperforms Zed. Yesterday for example.

The funds in cowrywise’s basket aren’t exactly the winners.

Thank you so much, I want to use this opportunity to express my unalloyed gratitude to you and others that have contributed a lot in this group.
May you guys always soar above your equals
Beeron:
If you trade individual stocks often, you will realize that when you make gain and about to exit a position, you would pay some fee like brokers fee, CSCS fee, Tax deduction etc. and the most important one being deducted even on the day of loss is Equity fund manager fee. All these fee are the reason for the deductions.

Truthfully, the market went up 3% or whatever number so they are being honest with that, but those fees deduction plus hidden charges like even sms alert fee is where these fund managers make real money that keep them in profitable business.

This is why some investors will rather trade stocks themselves while some do both trading stocks themselves and invest in Equity fund.

I explained this whole process to my landlord during the weekend after seeing the deductions on gains after selling his Dangote sugar stock. He bluntly told me this was why he quit Equity fund for me to him pick stocks — I just laughed and told him to continue to do the two.

In my opinion, CSblackpink strategy is the best: Handle your foreign portfolio by yourself by picking stocks or ETF you know is doing well, then let fund managers handle your local investments.

But if you not interested in foreign portfolio, pick stocks yourself and also have managed equity fund. Disregard the hidden charges fund managers do, you making money, they are making money, everyone is happy.

Any idea around the percentage of the different providers?

I suggest you keep the 3 though. I have CS, Zed and Paramount

@Bluearrow, @loriHamo have you guys initiated withdrawals from GTEF, how was the processing? I hate the idea of them having to update a day after trading because it means they get to keep the profit your investment makes
Re: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 9:23pm On May 13
I have not done withdrawal before

Exactly....by the time you apply for withdrawal....they will take the days profit...

Because....I would want to wait till they update to apply meanwhile the fund is actively trading that particular day as well...

My intention is to NOT withdraw everything.... leave the minimum entry balance which is 5k... with that, one is still invested..

I have funds with Paramount, CS and Cowrywise. I think Cowrywise EF is not doing badly either. It was for a few days they were on Kanayo but they are also doing Yakubu right now. In my opinion, I think Cowrywise EF will be among the top 5-7 in Nigeria.

The game changers in the pool are Afrinvest equity and Meristem equity..

UCAP is slowing it down....

ARM is also tagging along..

I have monitored it since mid February I joined
