They should follow the advice of international student office.

During their visa interview, they told the consular of their post study plan. Which is to return back to Nigeria to use their knowledge in their home country.

Some of my people are in this shoes now. They are considering day 1 CPT, it seems that is still active.

But the issue with that too is that your tuition payment will eat up most of the salary too

Even with the current inflation and situation here in Nigeria,if that money was wisely invested in a business, you would be a comfortable business owner right in your own country...

Mhenn this is where long term planning would have been helpful.

I know people who pre-empted all these early enough in Joe Biden’s tenure and got Canadian PR even though they didn't need it at that point.

Another lady (pharmaceuticals career) got in early, years ago and completed her bachelors. Trump's first term was during her 3 years STEM-OPT, H1B was unsuccessful in the first year, she didn't even bother to re-apply, she quickly redirected her efforts to Ireland through their critical skills list PR pathway and left US before her time was due.

Being abroad gives you some form of increased mobility, don't tie yourself to one country. The goal is to be in a better environment that can support your growth which is not one country in particular.
