One thing many beginners underestimate about equity investing is volatility. A lot of people enter the market during strong rallies and assume returns will always keep going up, but equity investments can fluctuate heavily in the short term.

That’s why I think beginners should focus more on understanding risk, diversification, and long-term investing instead of chasing quick returns or trending stocks.

Good for us more stock for retail investors, NNPC made the most money last year than a lot of the major companies in Nigeria combined and had too many expenses that crashed the profit they made. I am waiting for Dangote to list and I will crash in heavily and get as much as I can.

I'm suspecting that many nnpc personnel n top govt officials has shares in that dangote refinery.

They definitely do that’s why he progressed this far, I recall a story when the federal govt asked cement companies to come for a meeting, Dangote was the only one sitting where govt officials were meant to seat according to what I heard. The other company ceos sat together. He is heavily leveraged by the govt and political systems

GTEquity has been doing rubbish since. Massive drawdown, tiny profit. Feels like they are playomg games with our money.


Stanbic IBTC equity funds has been so sweet.

In all its been Kanayo Kanayo.

Stay invested, re-evaluate your portfolio, jump in with more funds strategically and ride the tide. You have not lost until you sell. next promises to be a much better week, all things being equal. Money will come in next week to buy the dips

it's there in plain sight if you know where to look when viewing the trade chart, compute numbers, subtract or add trade volume, track fund traded. You will know how the money flow in and out of the market. That way it will be easy to predict the next move.

For instance, Large cap stocks did badly on Thursday and Friday this past week, all I have to do is track funds traded and confirm if it matches with the information ASI is showing, then I can decide if it's a weak market or about to gain momentum and I can also further research and decide what is driving a stock — is it solid fundamentals like they usually discuss on the stocks thread or technical charts analysis I do or just basic sector rotation.

Basically, follow the maths and numbers, they will predict the kind of emotional sentiments in the market.
