Troll Jailed Two Years Over Fake News On Adekunle Gold’s Daughter

A social media user, Samuel Adeboye Adeyeye, with the username @Swanky, has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment for spreading malicious falsehoods about the family of celebrity couple Adekunle Gold and Simi.

Adeyeye was convicted after pleading guilty to charges of intentionally circulating fake news on digital platforms.

The convict had claimed that the singers lost their six-year-old daughter, Deja, to a rare genetic condition called Canavan disease.

Following the family’s complaints, security agencies tracked down the internet user, leading to his arraignment.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution presented evidence showing that the post was fabricated with malicious intent to defame the celebrities and cause emotional distress.

Adeyeye admitted to the offence and pleaded for leniency.

Delivering the judgment, the court sentenced Adeyeye to two years in prison, without the option of a fine.

During the court case between Adekunle Gold, Simi, and Swanky.

Swanky said he wasn't guilty and that his account was compromised, but what sold him out was that there was repeated defamatory tweets from the account before and after he made the main tweet. the court came to the conclusion that it was him.

After a series of hearings, Swanky pleaded guilty with tears in his eyes and cried unto Simi.

Decision has already been made by simi to lock him up, and she refused and neglected his cries. Barrister Demeji, Swankys lawyer, said, " Let this boy pay fine, I know 2 million is nothing. He has waec exams this week, forgive him."

The decision was already made by simi, and the chief judge closed the session and asked that Swanky should see his family for the last time as he would be facing 2years and 9 months in prison ( a total of 2 years in real time)
Swanky handed over his phone and X account to his senior brother to manage.

Barrister Demeji is set to meet Sowore next week.

The decision for Swanky to return in 2029 is imminent.💔
