just2endowed:Buhari only gave him 2.9 billion dollars. Total cost of the refinery was 18 billion dollars. The man has paid back the government loan. Calm down. Ask why the over 20 other licencees did not build their own refinery? And it was not because of cheap forex, it was because most of you Nigerians supported subsidy which made it difficult for banks to lend money to refinery licencess in good faith because they knew that subsidy would make it impossible for anyone to make a profit refining fuel in Nigeria. THat's why your NNPC refineries failed...years of subsidy (and when GEJ wanted to remvoe it, you people listened to tinubu then, and said no.). Dangote was able to afford to build and attract funding for his refinery because if he failed to pay back the loans, the banks who gave him the majority of the money as loan for the refinery would just take over his other lucrative businesses and his properties and collect their money back. Make we dey realize why some decisions should have been taken in 2012, and in 1993, not in 2023. |

nairalanda1:Even the $2.9billion loan Buhari gave to him, Buhari has not done him any favour. This is what is expected of a responsible govt, encouraging local industries and supporting them to succeed so as to create employment and save our scarce foreign exchange |

dangote isn’t a visionary, he’s just a guy who owns the only shovel in a country where everyone is buried in sand. he literally has a monopoly that only exists because the people in charge are in his pocket. the refinery is just a giant expensive bucket for oil a 19th century solution for a country that can’t even provide enough electricity to run a toaster. |

omoredia:At your age, Dangote was already very wealthy. At his present age, he is the wealthiest man in Africa and the wealthiest black man on earth. What is your status as a young man, even among your age group? While you call such a man a scammer and “Use our fx”, please tell us the fx that you refer to? While you sleep and accuse others of scamming your empty pockets, check your words and try to make your life meaningful beginning from now. The life is about ideas, opportunities and strategies. What are you doing about it? |

Gboss247:Adebayo Ogunlesi has no single investment in Nigeria. He made money in the UK and US, but he has no business in Nigeria yet. He visited Tinubu and was probably not impressed with what he saw. Then, he visited South Africa to explore the opportunities there and received tons of insults from SA social media community. |
