Two 🇺🇸 US Navy jets collided during an air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, sending both aircraft crashing to the ground in front of spectators. All four crew members ejected safely before impact.

Bernoulli effect. The rear jet got caught in the wake of the lead aircraft causing it to flutter The principle explains that a fluid moving horizontally increases speed as it is entering an area of low pressure and vice versa. The lead aircraft caused a wake of high pressure from its jet exhaust which saw the rear aircraft lose speed and control making it collide with the lead aircraft which was at the critical moment reducing its own speed which saw the rear aircraft speed increase all of a sudden . 3 Likes |

Ejecting from a fighter jet does irreparable damage to one's spine making it near impossible to control breathing and blood flow during high G force acceleration. The US military has it as policy that every pilot who has done at least two ejections be grounded for life. Some pilots show irreparable damage to their spines in just one ejection due to the high G force acceleration that comes from ejecting from an aircraft. The Russians for this same reason do not use rocket ejection seats, rather the cockpit disengages from the entire fuselage 5 Likes 1 Share |

The Jet pilot flying above the other pilot caused the avoidable mishap. Didn't they rehearse the flying pattern? As soon the one below began to rise, he too must have initiated an upward movement to avoid collision. This is the mistake pf poor training. |
