There is a lot of conversation lately about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) officially zoning their presidential slot to the South. While some argue this is a masterstroke to fracture the President’s traditional base, others believe the current political climate in the South is too complex for a simple zoning swap to move the needle. The core question is: Can the NDC actually capitalize on the current economic discontent, or is this move too late in the game? The NDC's choice to zone its presidency to the South may challenge President Tinubu's hold on southern political support. This strategy could significantly influence his re-election prospects.

NDC zoning to the South actually helps PBAT. He will clear the South. I believe he will win all six SW States and a few states in the SS plus get required 25% in several SS States. He may likely get 25% in two SE States also. Obi will help diminishing the chances of Atiku getting 25% in any SE State. That is the clincher because Obi is not a threat. Not even a remote chance of him winning Yet Obi will help to frustrates Atiku. It is Atiku and the born-to-rule elements in the North that must not be allowed to sieze power and ridicule the South. Obi will help Tinubu win. Game of thrones for real. The conflict between House Stark and House Lannister in the series kind of reminiscent of the current battle between the South, specifically SW and SS, and the born-to-rule Northern hawks who think they own Nigeria. |

Tinubu is going into that election hoping to buy votes, suppress and intimidate voters and rewrite results at the PU level. Any party that doesn't have the capacity to stop that madness is just wasting its time. Strategy only works in a sane environment - there's nothing sane about Nigeria |

A candidate so weak he needed zoning and free automatic ticket . Did Tinubu demand zoning or a free ticket ? |

If INEC will remain neutral, Peter Obi under NDC will defeat Bola Tinubu hands down, go and bookmark this. The only thing I need from Obi, and other NDC political bigwigs is to start reaching out to Donald Trump to warn INEC Chairman and Tinubu ahead that they must conduct free, fair, credible election. Failure to persuade Tinubu and INEC to allow the election go free and fair will definitely lead to mindless rigging that will give Tinubu an edge to win. Ordinarily, if INEC conduct free and fair election, Tinubu will struggle to get 25% of total votes cast in states outside Southwest region. |

Tinubu is gone. It will require an impossible flip for Tinubu to return to AsoRock. It will require him releasing an Nnamdi Kanu for instance to cause such a flip. |

With the recruitment of all these old war horses as co-lieutenant in the elections, it will be a hard nut for NDC to crack . Unless majority of Nigerians wholeheartedly resolve to make a change in government, anything outside that equals to day dreaming. |

Zoning was a big deal in 2023. But in 2027, no reasonable and sensible northerner would believe any southern candidate who promises to use a single term of 4 years in office. Know this and have peace. |

NDC will fail woefully in the 2027 elections based on today's realities. However nobody knows what will happen in the coming months |

WizardOfNG:Six South West states? For where? He didn't win the six South West state in 2023, it's now 2027 he will win them? When he intentionally alienated the governors of Osun and Oyo state? He's not winning in Osun and Oyo. Tinubu embraced opposition party members from other ethnic groups into the APC. When it came to his fellow Yoruba, he no even look their face. |

Nwaikpe:So because Tinubu allowed Peter to win him in Lagos, you think it was real? Peter won him in Lagos and came 3rd in the final result, and today Tinubu is your president. You guys are not intelligent at all. Peter Obi winning in Lagos was just a bait to trap you and your gullible Obidients to make them believe the process was genuine |

Nwaikpe:Bruv, what Tinubu achieved in 2023, as an ordinary citizen the Buhari cabal were doing their best to frustrate and keep away from power, was a miracle. Underestimate him, now that he is President, only if you don't know the huge capacity and talent Tinubu has as a Politician. |
| Re: Is The NDC’s Southern Zoning Strategy Enough To Unseat Tinubu? by Nwaikpe: 10:38am On May 19 |
WizardOfNG:If he had such talent, why didn't he contest for the presidency and win all these years? Why did he need to build a structure with Buhari, after failing with Ribadu, Atiku, etc? Anyway, I agree with you: if he could hijack the country when he had opposition in government, then what he could do with the government is unimaginable. |

And rewriting the result was almost impossible, except for the use of intimidation, violence, etc. That is why he lost in the two most cosmopolitan cities in Nigeria. Or did he allow it in Abuja, too? ![]() Forming smart when thinking anally. ![]() |
