Obi said he'll remove subsidy IN TRANCHES, little by little while making new policies that'll make the removal easier for people. This is what any same person will do. If you were president, I'm sure that's the same thing you'll do and not to suddenly remove the subsidy on your first day of office without considering the effects on the masses
This man called Tinubu did everything at once without providing anything to help reduce the effect.
This man floated naira and removed fuel subsidy at once, widen and increased tax.
Electricity tariff, all at ago. Like man, is he any substance? Becuase I dont understand how he wanted an already struggling country survive this. Damn! The effect was too much. And the worse, while he did this, he is still balling. Him and his fellow politicians ball so hard and their standard of living didnt drop.

Tinubu himself knows that he is a monumental failure, is only that he is incapable of saying it himself... grin grin grin

My dear brother, when someone asks you what Peter Obi will do differently, kindly know that one na your personal enemy. As we speak, the fuel, education, electricity, and health subsidies have been removed. So, where are the massive subsidy savings they told us would be used to turn Nigeria into Dubai? Well, it is being stolen and diverted into private pockets.
Without ready money, what do those evul men in power do? They go and borrow money abroad to develop this country, then steal the money and go to borrow more. As we speak, this government has borrowed more than all the previous governments combined and is borrowing more almost daily. And through all that, one of their minions will be asking you what Peter Obi would do differently. Stone am
The person painfully deserve mob action.

You choose who is the best to replace him, all we all agree on is that he must go. If the person we put is the same or worse we continue sending them packing until we get it right. We are not slaves, they are working for us, not the other way round.
I don't know but may God in infinite mercy bless you abundantly 🙏 amen

So are you better than folks who use danfo everyday?
At all, in fact I am even worse, however it's not my thing to enter danfo bus to work, hence I won't try that BS again. To the people that do it on a daily, I wish them luck in their future endeavors, but as for me and my 🏠 we weren't doing danfo buses now, forever and in the second life to come. Amen

Tinubu campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015. He even promised to continue from where Buhari stopped. Why absolve him?
Millions of Nigerians supported and voted for Buhari in 2015, does that mean those people are somehow to blame?

Of course! Buhari had been historically incompetent at everything he touched. The dude failed at both basic biology (had 150 cows for years) which never expanded in size (failed basic economics here). Buhari's antecedents dated to 1984. So, anyone who campaigned and voted for the ri_ff ra_ff is to be blamed.

I have said this many times, we need to learn to chase politicians out after one term and learn to investigate pass presidents and governors. Why has no ex president tried? Why cant they be tried? How can these men mess up Nigeria and go freely? It is like u cant try these men, why?

These things happen because our institutions are weak, dead or dying.

These things happen because this country has deep structural problems that can no longer be denied.

Nigerians need to understand that 8 years of Buhari totally finished Nigeria. The country was effectively bankrupt.
^^^
The 'Buhari excuse' has expired.

With his own mouth, BAT recently stated that he and Buhari were one and the same. BAT actually said (to the hearing of all) that he took over from himself. undecided It doesn't get stated any clearer than that.

Ages ago, some of us said that Buhari and BAT were two sides of the same bad coin. BAT himself has now confirmed the bad news.

bjdon:
Reform is never easy, but its starting to bear fruit. The Niara is now relatively stable, even with the war in Iran.
^^^
Indeed. undecided

So called economic reform without public sector reform is fetching water in a basket. A wasteful, futile exercise.

The foreign loans are piling up by the minute - and yet the 'reformer' says he is saving the country. undecided Loans for what exactly? undecided While the fiscal irresponsibility index continues to soar to the heavens?

This country is sleepwalking right into the 21st century version of the SAP debt trap of the 1980s. This time there will be no escape.

bjdon:
I don't really like Tinubu, but in all honesty he's the best we have right now.
^^^
undecided

This is false.

Structurally, Nigeria is terrible. No strong pressure group to tackle Nigeria ruling class. It is actually and almost an impossible country.

Both Obi and Atiku had also said they would have removed fuel subsidy as well, so there would have been hardship regardless

False equivalence

This is the part that rankles. This is the part that stings.

It's one thing when a country's leadership shows through clear, visible action that the burden is shared across the board. It is another thing entirely when a country's leadership preaches endlessly and doesn't practice at all.

One poster here spoke about the 'imbalance of sacrifice' and that perfectly describes this administration's unrepentant hypocrisy. There was nothing, absolutely nothing about BAT to show he had the sincerity and depth to lead by example - while implementing his impulsive, rash, and ultimately disastrous policy decisions of 2023. Yet some people bought into the illusion - and the delusion - of a mythical, so called 'first class' accountant.

How could people not see it? How? undecided

That is why I cant suffer my self for them. Never! I cant sleep in darkness and in mosquotoe, I will spend my income on my family to be comfortable.
These muda fukas told us same thing during Buhari that we should suffer for now. 8 years gone, Nigerians have short term memory issue
