😅🤣🤣🤣

The current yakubu hasn't affected our gains at all

It's only individuals that started maybe early this month that could be close to their investment capital

More Yakubu and Kanayo will still happen during the course of the year.

The Yakubu here is really bad; however, being patient will definitely pay off in the long run.

Good evening Chief,

Just wait for now, it will be bloody week next week for large cap stocks.
prior to my prediction last week.

This is a follow up advise; please do not top up your Equity fund for now, ASI is getting weak and weak every day.

Be warned otherwise, you buy the dip and it will keep dipping.

How is it going over there Chief?

Nice strategy moving your funds into foreign stocks but it might be worth having a second look into buying large cap Nigeria stocks and forgetting them till any year you decide to move back to Nigeria, if you ever have such plan to retire here. Even if you don't have such plan, you can still invest and get the reward in the future.

The reason is Nigeria is still an emerging market, most of our stocks are still under valued so if you buy and forget now, you essentially buying at a discount. If anything, just invest in the FUGAZ stocks and continue to invest abroad. You will be glad you did.

Fun facts: Foreign Stocks are tied around the News, corporate actions and the economy hence why it's fragile. But Nigeria stocks are built around the health of NIGERIA banks and Nigeria banks are the most regulated in the whole world.

I just hope you understand this tips I just gave.

Happy Investing out there Chief.
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 2:37pm On May 20
Cheers, chief, am doing well at the moment. What are "FUGAZ" stocks? I think my risk level has advanced to stock trading. Tech stock has been bleeding for the past weeks and I've been buying the dip daily to average down and accumulate more units.

I keep stressing brooo, don't buy dips everyday blindly, resources are scarce. Please reach out to always know when to begin buying dips.

Secondly, FUGAZ are strong large cap bank stocks; the likes of Firstholdco, UBA, GTCO, Access, Zenith (FUGAZ)
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 2:52pm On May 20
My broker has a robo platform that buys the dip when my ETF moves away from its portfolio allocation. If I don't buy the dip, the robot will sell my units to raise cash and buy the dip. Furthermore, buying the dip in foreign market is quite good for me as I need more units in a cheaper price to meet my goal. Furthermore, the ETF prices are usually unstable when the market opens, It might dip heavily today and tomorrow morning, it will bounce back aggressively.

That's seem automated with limited control from your end. That's smart.

What you basically just explained is compounding and not trading. That's Warren Buffett's strategy.

Nice one.
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 3:05pm On May 20
Yes, bro. This week, I bought some units at $94 from $105, and right now Samsung labor Union called off the strike and the land is green at the moment.

Trading has been my anchor in this current market situation. My only stock this yakubu season has reduced my profit is NGXGROUP. I entered at 130+, so I'm still fine with some little profit.

Status of my ngx as of 2da....will delete in a bit

This new market timing has changed a lot in the market dynamics to be honest from my perspective.

Great to know you have moved funds to foreign stocks. Once the Nigerian market wants to go into another bull ride back in very hard oo

Just to add you noted something maybe 2 weeks ago for short term contributors to take profit and rejoin after the bears

Just putting this out incase of people that don't have an investor's mindset
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 3:20pm On May 20
I only see Zenith, GTB and Stanbic as being reliable . The other banks to me are a gamble

I sold my fidelity already

Banks are just for dividend from my POV based on FA. If no dividend they don't worth it
Re: Equity Investment. by CSblackpink(m): 3:23pm On May 20
Wow, looks amazing, bro. Yakubu is always grim and a blessing in disguise as well. However, as Beeron mentioned earlier, one needs to know when to get in and buy in order not to buy a falling knife.

This breaks my heart knowing Institutional investors are currently buying fidelity and will soon be dumping to retail investors. You shouldn't have sold.

You should have sold off NGXGroup since March 26th to avoid the catastrophic downtown.

It was at overbought level at that time, considering the low 30 day volume of that stock, you shouldn't have kept it for long.

Truth is, Fundamental analysis isn't enough sometimes and I have studied you well enough to know that, that's your weakness. Just learn a little of Technical analysis, I promise you will turn picking stocks to a day Job and it will be fun for you.

I'm actually beginning to fancy technical analysis due to how it can better guide entry and exit point compared to FA truth be told. But fundamental analysis to me is very important in any stock picking

I followed the argument btw TA, FA and Street Analysis 🤣 on the other Group chat and there were lots of good point for one to learn in improving his/her portfolio

I dumped mine too early to them sadly...but no regret sha

Was seeing fidelity going back to its 19n and i didn't want to go back there. I sold for 22. My gain was just just something little

In my opinion about TA and FA debate. TA wins 70% of the time?

Why?

The simple truth is regardless of how solid the FA is, right; the market is still a bubble at the end of the day, even the economy is a bubble in itself, the struggle of not making that bubble burst is why government issues Tbill, Bond and OMO and buy them back. Now the day government fails to pay back or buy back, the bubble will burst, MMF will fail, bond will fail, Tbills will fail, omo will fail. Economy collapse.

Same with trading stocks using FA — again — No matter how solid FA is, the players in the market will ensure a bubble build because if a bubble don't build no one will take profit and no one will buy the stock in the first place. That's why TA comes in.

Now with TA, I can calmly sit in front of my computer and see the irrational buyers, the rational buyer, the noise and the quietness in the market as well as the opportunity and when to enter and leave, even if I don't know what the company is manufacturing, the fact that I can tell the best time to buy thier stock, make money and dump it is such a powerful flex because, in the long run, you will beat the market, compound your money faster and avoid crash in the event that that bad news hit the company and everyone are dumping their stock.

TA wins any day but it's hard to master TA however, FA is out there in the open for easy accessibility but TA takes time and experience to learn and master. But once you have good grasp of it, even in your 70s and 80s, you will still be trading stocks and continue to beat the market, no retirement.
